Hey everyone,

I’m dealing with a strange issue and wondering if anyone else here has experienced something similar.
Back in March 2024, Facebook suddenly locked one of my accounts. The message said there was “unusual activity” and asked me to log in using a device I’ve used before.

But here’s the thing - I’ve only ever used ONE phone to log into this account for years. Same IP, same device, same location. This is clearly a bug or some ridiculous system glitch from Meta.
  • I still receive emails from Meta related to this account.
  • I can reset the password.
  • I have full access to the email.
  • But I still can’t log in and the account is invisible on Facebook.
I've tried logging in via browser, app, different networks, and even reported the issue, but no response from Meta. It’s been over 1 year now!
  • Has anyone dealt with something like this?
  • Any trick or workaround to get the account unlocked?
Appreciate any insight - this is driving me nuts!

In some cases, using the Facebook Business Support live chat via Business Manager can help escalate the issue faster than submitting forms. Also, try accessing the account recovery flow via mobile browser, and change the recovery email temporarily if that option appears.

Hello! Sometimes, browser cookies or cached data can confuse Meta’s login system. Try logging in using a private/incognito window in Chrome or Safari. Clear your browser’s cache and cookies first, as outdated data might cause issues. One user on Reddit unlocked their account by logging in via a smartphone browser (not the app) and resetting their password
Since you’re receiving emails from Meta, check for any links or instructions to verify your identity

Thanks for the suggestions, guys.
I’ve actually already tried using the recovery links and submitted forms multiple times - no luck so far.
As for the Facebook Business Support live chat, I did try contacting them once or twice, but it didn’t really lead anywhere. Not sure if I was in the right support flow or if I just got unlucky with the reps.
Do you know if there's a specific route or chat entry point that works better for this type of account lock (where it requires login from a previously used device)?
I still find it odd since I’ve always used the same phone for years...

Post on X tagging Meta or Facebook, succinctly describing the issue (e.g., “Locked out of business account for 1 year despite same device, no response to forms”) ,public posts sometimes prompt responses.

I’ve seen a few cases like this - Meta flags the account, but recovery tools don’t help much. If you still have access to email + phone, maybe try verifying from another device/location or reach out via the Business Support chat if linked to a BM.

Here’s the short and direct English version of the response:
Facebook sometimes locks accounts due to system errors or false AI triggers, even if you're using the same device.
How to fix it:
  1. Log in from the original device via browser (Chrome/Firefox), not the app.
  2. Use the same IP/network you’ve previously used—avoid VPNs or new networks.
  3. Submit an appeal via this link:
    help/contact/260749603972907
→ Clearly explain the issue and attach screenshots if possible.
If that doesn’t work:
  • Reach out to Meta via their official Facebook pages, like Meta Business or Meta for Creators.
  • Or get help from someone with a Meta agency or partner account to escalate your case.
Note: In some cases, recovery can take 6–12 months without direct support from a Meta rep.

This is an internal checkpoint error in the form of a shadow ban; you need to use 4G to log in via a mobile browser, then submit the verification form at the login support link.
If this does not work, use another verified account to contact business support, clearly stating that the account is locked for no reason.

I see the business suopprt seems to only support solving issues related to advertising accounts.

There are many people who provide Facebook account recovery services, try contacting them.

It’s no longer working bro

In this case, you need to contact the support department directly. You should not follow the available form. If you find it difficult, you can find some units to help you appeal that account.

Check any emails from Meta for identity verification instructions. If it’s a shadow ban, logging in with 4G mobile data and submitting the verification form could solve it. If that doesn't work, try using another verified account to contact business support and explain that the account was locked without reason.

Account locked due to system error, you should try logging in with Facebook Lite, old browser, or submit an official support form to appeal.

Have you tried using a different device to log in again?

This sounds like a serious Facebook glitch; unfortunately, without Meta’s direct support, there’s no guaranteed fix—try repeatedly submitting identity verification, using trusted contacts, or seeking help through a Facebook Partner or legal route, but many get stuck indefinitely.

Faced something similar before — the account may have been wrongly flagged. Try logging in via Facebook Lite, switch to 4G IP, or submit an ID verification form if you still have access. If that doesn’t work, chances are the account is permanently soft-banned.

Sometimes Facebook scans all your unusual actions on Facebook, leading to your account being locked. When this happens, you can contact Facebook support, but it is usually very difficult to get your account back. If it has been more than a year and you still haven't gotten it back, it is even more difficult.
