Today, I start testing Tiktok FYP algorithms.
My Tiktok account is new-born, a few days old. My purpose is for e-commerce.
No posts yet, so this is user-side's FYP analysis.

I noticed that firstly I opened Tiktok app, always my following account video comes FYP first.
Then I started to calculate the percentage of FYP videos every 10 scrolls.

Here is the results, maybe it differs to yours, but the ratio should be similar.

First 10 FYP: 50% following 30% interest 20% ad
Next 20 FYP: 20% following 40% interest 40% ad
Next 30 FYP: 20% following 30% interest 50% ad (sponsored / Capcut / blue badge)
Next 40 FYP: 10% following 30% interest 60% ad (sponsored / Capcut / Green Screen / Live)
Next 50 FYP: 20% following 40% interest 40% ad (sponsored / Capcut / real freackles)
Next 60 FYP, 30% following 20% interest 50% ad (sponsored / Capcut / Green Screen)
Next 70 FYP, 30% following 20% interest 50% ad (sponsored / Live / photos / Marcianito 100 Real)
Next 80 FYP, 30% following 40% interest 30% ad (sponsored / blue badge / photos)
Next 90 FYP, 10% following 40% interest 50% ad (sponsored / Capcut / Front Flashlight / Live)
Next 100 FYP, 10% following 40% interest 50% ad (sponsored / Capcut / Pretty Babe)

My findings:
1- Following videos are only 10 to 30%, except first 10 scrolls
2- User-tag interest videos are 30-50%, it has existing interest & recommended new interest
3- Ad videos & Tiktok Pushing feature videos are quite high showing 50-60% always

So, it means how we go appear on FYP is:
20% effort to be a follower of target accounts
40% effort to be same niche or specific niche
40% effort to use Tiktok pushing Trends features, in my opinion so far.

I share some interesting findings here to you, so I hope it will come back to me one day.

My problem is I haven't leaned yet how to write good content & sentences that I'm not a native English speaker and I'm not good at English enough.
So still hesitate to make captions / descriptions / text to speech sadly. Because Tiktok algorithm detects and collects Non-English speakers' grammar errors if user writes any comments etc in user historical behavior. Well, everything is learning, step by step I go!

I will update my Tiktok algorithm experiments here, so if you can share me back some new or interesting CTA caption,
engaging comments tricks etc- I'd appreciate it very much! ;)

@Makroy thanks, I don't need using translating tools but google translate is too formal for Tiktok caption I feel.. Well, for short CTA 5 words maybe good! Or copy and paste competitors caption phrase possibly for now.

My concern is my small errors of English grammar like prepositions etc will go storing in Tiktok historical user behavior library so..

Hire content writer? Yeah, that's very likely option in the future. Targeting well using US slang (or UK slang) so the traffic quality will ensure easily.

Today I made findings of Hashtag algorithm.

Just make sure that, this result is 2023 January's algorithm.
And US account. It might change the result after updating Tiktok's major algorithm changes periodically. And different country too.

My Findings:
1- 1-10M hashtag views are easy to rank in compared with 1B hashtag views
2- Hashtag ranking is sort by Like number. No other factors Comments, Saves, and Views
3- FYP is for velocity

Here to declare that:
I don't answer which niche I'm in, which hashtags I used etc. I don't want to get my competitors' go higher, and if I find some- I go try reporting your account permanently if you disturb me :D hehe

So, interestingly, when I observed the strong hashtags, for example #FYP, it is actually moderated that: Rank higher with White race, Animals, Paid Blue budge, and High Quality in video.

My feeling was 70% was white race, 20% was black race, 10% was Asian race but no Latinos, Arabs, Indians if human was appearing in video in #FYP hashtag. Especially, grandma/grandpa or little teen in video was always white people. No black grandma story or black little teen nicely performing dance in Top Ranking.

As of 2020, white people make up 57.8% of the country in the United States. Plus, young generation would have different races more for study purpose who located in US.
But when I scroll #FYP was almost always white people, so I tested to compared with some local hashtags #like4share, it is appearing in top rank Indian (or Arab) race, bad quality yet very funny, some grey ways CTAs in video.

Well I got many findings by that so I'll do experiments and work on it!
So far I can confirm that Tiktok hashtag moderation is do exist in algorithm settings. Thanks to @mylastvacation your thread too! :)

Nice attitude.

I bet you will go far, and not only with TikTok, if you keep trial and error a priority.

Oh for Latin content, maybe they have separated content section inside the US Tiktok. When I registered my Tiktok account, it showed me "English or Spanish?" something like that to choose. Even tho I set up my side all US English on the Phone / Proxy / Language. So Tiktok is showing content strictly to language preferences, #fyp hashtag too maybe.

Your are doing great , keep it up

Thanks, I like numbers and not based on lucky go-viral waiting method.
I will go calculate and make a predict point with my experiments.

Then yes, Tiktok is for generation Z, when they grew up enough in 5 years it will not be for kids anymore like Instagram. Then new social media will come up! I will hop on that time more quickly for positioning :D

Additionally, right now I did experiment with my home-wifi ip using Tiktok App on iPhone. Cus my proxy connection got cut, and I read some people could connect Tiktok using home-wifi + USA Sim card. Let's give it a try.

My setup: iPhone No SIM Proxy (mobile)
Testing -> iPhone No SIM Home-Wifi

It was just 10-20 mins for scrolling video & hashtag searching.
During that time I didn't make any login or logout action, nor likes or follows action.

My search window- the auto-suggest started showing my country's language after few minutes using my real ip home-wifi. So, it means that Tiktok app does log IP address even on search action. I didn't have problem during video scroll action.

Well, I immediately swiped up my Tiktok App. Then I get back using proxy's US ip. It gets back as usual- English search results with it.

Findings:
-I spoofed my GPS to the USA during the test, but Tiktok Search engine preferred using my home-wifi IP address
-Search action logs IP address, Scroll action maybe not
-IP address judge algorithm's ratio said x amount of time period vs y amount of time period will consider to choose which country user is in, however, it is not in this search action case. (my ratio of using home-wifi ip is few minutes compared with many minutes past user historical behavior with US proxy ip)

Well I never connect with proxy simply I connect with vpn take my sim out and then login to TikTok but make sure you change region and language to US in your phone setting anyway can you share which do proxy you use with your phone I might need it to connect in different countries in future.

How many views are you getting? Like whats the highest you've got?

Today I got new findings on the hashtag area and some other features.
Firstly, hashtag ranking is based on Like Numbers. I confirmed below the most popular hashtags, #FYP and #TiktokMademeBuyit.

*L = Likes
#FYP

Rank 1 L- 60M Blue badge
Rank 2 L- 50.9M Blue badge

Rank 9 L-4M C-13k S-450k
Rank 10 L-3.9M C-126k S-161k

Even comment feature is disabled, but it can rank.
However, weren't all hashtags having same algorithms.
Some "featured" hashtag ranking had handful irregular accounts.
Top on the ranking had blue badge or pushing accounts, but ranking order itself was sorted by Like Numbers.
Also, some hashtags No.1 was showing my near location account.
Which didn't have million likes but 300k+ and have popularity in my area's neighborhood.

Then, the suspicious FYP video was in my feed.
So I analyzed.

Account name: A
Video Date: 1-13 (10 days ago)
Engagements: 1.1M likes 11.3k comments 74.7k saves 5456 shares
Content: TV show things (Not my interest)
   Hashtags: #inflation #groceryshopping #abbyleemiller #wendywilliams #DoritosTriangleTryout (Not my interest)
Caption: "If the prices for groceries are too expensive just don't buy them.." (Not my interest)

Firstly, I thought this was political purpose, so there is no #FYP then it could come on my FYP.
But, found out that it was Doritos Hashtag Challenge occurring that time.

In the theory, no one goes to check this kinda hashtags except coming on FYP or fav account is using it.
So in this case, Doritos paid Tiktok $$$k USD to receive;
Hashtag Ranking + 3 Featured selected Tiktokers (Ads) + Pushing on FYP in target state/country.

Interestingly, Paid Hashtag Ranking algorithm was little different.

Rank 1 499 likes
...
Rank 30 92 likes CHANGED
Rank 31 1884 likes
...
Rank X until 0 likes CHANGED
Rank X+1 4.7M likes
Rank X+2 3.6M likes
...
Rank X+37 1.1M likes My FYP finding video

Paid Hashtag ranking algorithm has changed 2 times in row, it was categorized as:
Rank 1 to Rank 30 High Quality Video and good performing dance
Rank 31 to Rank X Bad Quality Video and poor performing dance
Rank X+1 Irrelevant, nothing related with dance challenge but used paid hashtag

MY FYP video was Rank X+37 and it was TV show content.
Nothing related with hashtag challenge yet used that hashtag then appeared on my FYP.
By this, we actually can use irrelevant hashtag to fool Tiktok algorithm.
They will categorize as irrelevant video, but it still pushes on FYP if we use paid hashtag.

Plus, nice information I got.

-Paid Hashtag Ad Cost
$150,000 for 6 days
-Brand Combo Ad Cost
$50,000 per day
Paid hashtag + In-Feed Sponsored Post +Top View

Damn, that's why Tiktok Trends is gone day by day & week by week. We need to ride it within six days to boost up to hop on FYP.

Tiktok Paid Solution list
1 In-Feed Ads (Sponsored display)
2 TopView (First opened app)
3 Branded Hashtag Challenge (Paid Hashtag)
4 Spark Ads (Sparking post?)
5 Branded Effect (Paid Effect)

Paid Effect price I didn't get info yet.
Paid Song price should have somewhere else in Music Industry too.

I confirmed that Doritos' Featured 3 pinned videos were using almost same captions with different emoji with 3 roll models.
3 roll-models to make a choice by audiences to copy the trend.
And Tiktok, is pushing those videos to FYP who is using the paid hashtag.
Also, copying all caption isn't good for algorithm. But we can use almost same caption to alert to Tiktok algorithm.

Findings:
-Billion views hashtag ranking needs to have 5 - 30M+ likes
-Paid hashtags can use to appear on FYP
-Hashtag challenge is only 1 day to 6 days

Tiktok is having nice ads revenue :D

Tak tak Спасибо! :D
I like your thread very much, keep doing well, man!
And let me know once you could achieve your goal, I wait for it ;)
So even some periodical algorithm updates is upcoming, I can help it always!

Well I never connect with proxy simply I connect with vpn take my sim out and then login to TikTok but make sure you change region and language to US in your phone setting anyway can you share which do proxy you use with your phone I might need it to connect in different countries in future.
Currently I still look for good proxy providers, mine is sometimes got cut or slow down so I can't recommend you.
Indeed, I'm thinking 2 options to cover up:
1. Build my private VPN and add US server
2. Connect my proxy via VPN
First one IPs will give by server so I can use fresh IPs.
Or second one access will be safer, better than only proxy or only VPN, and I can access using multiple devices without whitelisting ip.
Someone give me good advice about this, tho? ;)

So, it sounds like your VPN is good enough having huge IP pools or private IP only for you, yeah?
What is your budget for proxy? And why not keep using your VPN, you can use only 1 country?
