The people aren't discussing much about ASO, so i decide to share my personal experience, and maybe, have other people sharing their experience.

I heard about ASO a couple months ago.
I have a google play developer acc 4 years old or so. During this period, i had some apps published. Some of it, were doing pretty good, and make me some money ... 2/3 years ago i was making like 300/400 euros a month, for some of you it's really nothing, but for me, making this money was something. After some time, my apps start to die and i decide to unpublish them.

I start again like one year ago, hoping to make some money. I had a pretty good start, and my apps were getting some attention. That was very good, because i have to mention, i wasn't doing anything, just publishing them.
Then, a couple months ago, i heard about "ASO", so i think, oh, ok, so i should pay more attention to my title, my short description and description. So i start modifying them, because, sure, i was hoping to get more attention. The things doesn't went so good, and, instead of achieving more downs to my apps, i "achieved" exactly the opposite. I saw my apps losing positions in google play in just some days.

What i was doing wrong ? I really don't know, maybe i made some spammy descriptions, it's possible, but checking the top app descriptions, i saw that they have some spammy descriptions too, with keywords repeating 15/20/30 times.

So, i start looking for some answers and i found BHW. So here i am, sharing with you my experience and hoping that someone, has more experience and wants to give me some tips about this.

Thank you in advice.

There is only one person that can help you out, he has a bst thread. He won't help you though cus he charges a fee

Can you be more specific ? :D Maybe i can try his service, if the price isn't too high, at least i can have a look. Thanks.

ASO is pretty saturated these days for the main keywords but still possible. guides around best practices for ASO are pretty public so you should be able to find some good articles around it.

For Google Play, the general gist is to run a lot of experiments for keywords that are important to you and see what happens. Keyword density does matter, but if you spam keywords, you definitely run the risk of getting penalized. Backlinks also matter I believe, but again, if you spam links, you'll also get penalized. And then it's about having high retention rate + great reviews + volume

ASO ? oh man , you are later for 4 years

Thank you for the tips. But still, as i said, i tried to modify title/ description 3/4 times, and the results were not so good.

check the google algorithm....
I read something about it, i know the retention rate is very important for Play Store . But when you first publish an app, let's be serious, even if you have a good app, if no one can find it is gonna be useless. But still, thank you.

it's an experiment for a reason....if it drops, you revert and try another experiment

It depends on your niche (volume search, and the number of competitors), my advice since we're in 2019 you should use ggl Adwrds to rank your app in any keyword once your app is ranked, you can stop promoting your app and you ll still geting organic downloads, if you need further help im here

Hey thanks for sharing your story! I found out that Keywords mentioned frequently, earlier in the full description on Google Play have been found to be considered more relevant, and thus earn a better rank than those found in later lines in the description. Maybe this will help you! Let me know

Did you tested that ? It will be nice to know your results. Thanks!

I did the test by repeating a keyword five times in the first few sentences of the long description, instead of repeating the same number of times throughout the entire length description. In my case, it was working very well! I think you should try. The power of success with ASO is to keep testing and tweaking your strategies!

@dNs_1995 all depends on niche, amount of searches in play market, rating of your app.
aso + motivated traffic working way better :) but nowadays it's hard to find a good market where you can by motivated traffic on your app from a specific region.

Hope this info will help you.
