My experience on using private proxies for scrapebox and tweetattacks

I have a dedicated server in house running 24/7 very much serving solely for the Scrapebox and Tweetattacks. Both tools request private proxies for better performance so I started to explore the private proxies business months ago. I have tried a few approaches and now settled on this approach and am satisfaction with its performance vs costs.

Average price for 10-IP is around $25/month. Proxy b onanza offers $9.99/mth but it allows only 3gb bandwidth. My typical bandwidth usage is 10GB daily. If you use them for Tweekattacks only the bandwidth will go much less; still 3gb/month is hardly enough if you will use the proxies seriously.

For a budget of $25-30/month I will suggest using VPS (virtual private server) with additional IPs. You will get 10-IP in that price range over 2-3 VPS accounts in multiple cities. Nowadays the VPS plans are as cheap as only $5/month! You can find lots of such offers thru gg.

The major advantage of having multiple VPS vs one proxy provider is that you can make use of the VPS for blog farming, building in-house link wheels, and making data backup.... etc. So for the same price $25-30 you have more server resource to play around while having the core private proxy service in your own full control.

I have two VPS for white hat clients. As cost of those servers has been covered by those clients I practically pay no extra cost on those proxies. I often run 3 SB and 2 TA concurrently supporting dozens of websites and 500+ twitter accounts over some 12-IP. Everything has been running smoothly and peacefully for months.

The only catch is the installation of proxy server. I am using the Squid which is free. But the installation on linux server is not straight forward. If you are no good in server installation like me, you may need to spare tens of dollar to get someone from elance or scriptlance to install and configure for you.

Very interesting thaks for that. I currently have 10 private proxies that I use for SB and Tweerattacks and that works very well. I also have a VPS but have avoided installing proxy software on it due to technical limitations (mine!).

I may have to look at this topic again as I could save a few dollars but I don't have a lot of time and don't like the idea of giving someone root access to my server.

Just a note - not all proxy providers have data restrictions. My shared proxies are $0.90 each, their fast, ans there's unlimited data with them. They are connected via at least a 5Mb connection. Just food for thought.

Can you recommend any VPS providers? Do you run scrapebox in the VPS (you need windows) or do you use the VPS to make private proxies(can be done on linux) for scrapebox and then run it on your computer?

OP... did you ever taken into consideration if someone filed complaints on your proxy that happened to come from your "VPS for white hat clients", then the VPS get shutdown/warning etc...

True, that is risky on production server. My VPS is managed so I got the hosting company to installed that for me. For others it will be wise to do it on newly subscribed VPS server only.

Can't compare to the privilege of private proxies. But if your usage is high (eg. bulk emailing and serp harvesting) shared proxies are wise choices.

Search gg and you will find plenty. Just ask before you subscribe if setting up private proxy is allowed. Mostly are allowed.

Nope, Windows VPS is too expensive to me.

That is what I am doing.

Unlikely. If I annoyed people either my twitter accounts get suspended or the SB blog block my IP. In the worst case I think my host will just tell me to shut the proxy server, instead of shutting the VPS account.

So far all my suspended twitter accounts are dead on only "aggressive following" (damn TA I set limit to 30-50 daily follow already), and who care SB blogs are blocking your IP and email and website LOL.

On the other hand, I got PM asking me advice for setting up around 100 to 500 proxies.

For that scale you can run a proxy business already. Anyway my advice will be:

1. I doubt if one VPS account can host over 100 IP, not technically but administratively. You will split accounts for that and other good reasons, such as minimum server down time. For those $5-10/mth accounts I will expect only 95-99% availability, which means few hundred hours down time annually. That will be chaos on production server for business.

2. If you are inexperienced in setting up proxies but having such a big goal. You better start from small scale and build it up over time. I will avoid the approach of finding a "perfect" vps service and then build everything in one go.

Pardon the bump, but I'm confused about something about would appreciate some clarification.

Since Scrapebox requires windows to run and you are using linux servers, What is the point of having the VPS since you can use private proxies within scrapebox? Thanks.

He uses the VPS IP addresses to create his own proxies instead of buying the proxies; personally, I would rather buy 10 or 20 proxies instead of messing with VPS servers, but that's just me.



I used to have a dedicated with 200 ips that I used for proxies and setting them up was a HUGE pain - I believe it took me about three days and I am VERY good with just about everything techy and computer related. Of course, most VPS have everything installed and probably all you have to do is install Squid and configure it, but that was not the case with my server; not to mention that configuring for elite proxies could be far more challenging that most peeps anticipate?

All the things look good the paper, but you know who many spam complaints/suspension you gonna get ?

I like the private proxies from SquidProxies. I use them for all sorts of tasks. Before I ever used private proxies, I had no problem using free proxies with scrapebox...heck I use free proxies for scrapebox sometimes.

I use MyPrivateProxy net , fastest proxies I ever worked with, unlimited threads, no limitations recommended for tweetattacks.
