Hi people! how are all you?
Well... Im sure it happened to lot of people (including myself some years ago) but I just want to post it because all of us break our minds just to try to go up some positions in Google, and then the big G changes some things and all our work becomes useless!
Last year I brought 100 Micro Niche Sites here in BHW. I was not happy at all because Keywords and EMDs were very difficult to write about, but anyway I accepted all them after some changes. It took me some time to start to work and honestly I didnt make nothing more than add 2-3 extra originals articles in about 3 months.
The last article I added was in December 2011.
All the sites (100) earned me about 150$ per month in Adsense, I think that only one or two months I earned +200$ but nothing bad only for "buy" them and add a few extra posts.
With first G algo update this year, my sites starting to get less and less visits, then some of them sent me more than before, but it only happened to about 20 sites. When the renewal time comes, I just deleted about 50 sites from my list because they didnt earn me a cent, and about 25 that didnt covered the domain fee. All them just expired.
Until this point my portfolio of sites was only 25 domains without any linkback, social signal, nothing nothing more than 6 posts of about 500-750 kws.. PR 0, and 0 linkbacks.
With the second G algo update, 12 of these sites were deindexed (and I cancelled them). So I had only 13 sites... making me about $8 per day.
I was scared because I knew that the next change would hurt my small adsense earnings...
Finally, it happened! The big G just stopped to send me traffic to my sites! but I didnt realize it until some last week. My adsense account started to get more and more and more earnings. In Octuber I got a grow from $8 to $15 per day. (average) with one day of $80.
So, I decided to access to my Analytics account, because the first I thought was that G just gave me a push on the SERPs, but NO!
I noticed that G just sent me only 4 (yeah, four) hits in 1 month to one of my sites (getting about 250 hits to this site per day from G before October).
Bing... sent me +5,500 hits
Yahoo... more than 2,700!
This was only for one site. I also got about 8,000 extra hits to the left 12 sites!
Anyway, I got about 16,000 hits from Bing (mostly) and Yahoo, and it made me earn about $850.- with Adsense in 47 days (oct-1st until today). Nothing bad for 13 sites that I only added 2-3 articles more than what I got when I brought them. Because I didnt realize what happened, I couldnt change anything, I got lot of qualified hits, with a small CTR (4%), I got lot of clicks but less than what I could get if I would changed the theme or add an extra adsense block (only one at the top of the blog)
From July/2011 until Jun/2012 I recovered the full money I spent in MNS + Domains + Hosting (about 2300$). With July/2012 I paid the renewal fee for the left domains and got a small profit...
then from Aug to Nov Im in profit about $1400!
I work as IM since 2005, mostly in Adult and Dating/Cams niches but last year I decided to switch to mainstream, but for any reason I couldnt leave in full my previous work because it still brings me good money every day, and now Im working in other things too (all BH) but I couldnt start with MNS as I projected.
I added 2 screenshots to give some proof of what im talking about.
This is just my experience and I wanted to share it, I dont understand why all us talk only about "G" when there are more SE with good traffic to give us money!
