Beautiful stuff man! Im' just getting more into Amazon myself. I have a niche site that makes me $20 - $40 a day. but I'd love to expand on it. Honestly those earnings/ranking was by accident, so I'm very interested to see what I could do if I actually made a effort, haha.

I just put the keywords where they make sense now, regardless of how profitable they are. So if "electric weed eater" gets 20k MS and "weed eater" gets 10k, I still make electric weed eater a support post and just do extra backlinking to if it is needed.
Google can change the resulting title in the SERPS. If your SEO title is "Best Camo Wood Knives For Hunting", and somebody was to type in "wood knives", the resulting title which might appear in google search could be "Wood Knives". Sometimes it might appear as your SEO title though. What matters is how it is calculated in its algorithm though, and its the SEO title which is calculated.
As a quick test, type in the phrase that you are going for and look at the titles of the competing pages which show up in the SERPS. Now click on those pages and hover over the title tab, in some of these the titles will be different than the SERP titles.

I have a super noob question. I did my research and selected a niche with a high priced, actively searched product. (After further research I found that there's other mini review sites on the first page..decided to go ahead just to learn how to set up a review site + outrank other review sites) I'm stuck with tablepress and amazon links. I want to insert an amazon affiliate image link in html form into the table but not sure how.. should I paste the html code from amazon into the tablepress cell (under preview, the image doesn't show up) or is there another way to add the code into the cell so that it shows the image + links back to amazon?

It's not just the great share of this detailed method that makes me applaud the OP but also his command of additional quality facts and info he so effortlessly communicates to his readers. Though extremely modest in the face of unnecessary criticism, his innate intelligence seeps from his posts like a dam that is overfilled and gives me the utmost confidence that all is exactly as he said. I use the easyazon plugin for this(costs some coin), but as megler mentioned you can do it without paying for that plugin by doing what he suggested.

Nice thread dude.
Yes, I create all of my banners. I have a template I use on photoshop, I put in a nice large font of the category of my landing page in the center. I then background erase everything and past 2-4 pics of my products being used, and if I can't find these, I'll just paste in my products. For instance "Baby Bouncers" and I'll have 2-4 pics surrounding the font of baby's doing something with the bouncers. I'll also have my logo in there somewhere, usually all the way on the left.
My page setup, I have the banner at the very top. I make it pretty thin with no fluff so I have more content/ads above the fold. Directly below my banner is my h1 tag and an adsense ad(by default I have one adsense ad at the top and bottom of all of my pages), followed by 1-2 paragraphs of intro with an image aligned to the left(I rotate images left to right). Underneath this, I'll list a "Top 5" products if it is a category page, and maybe use a table although I've started to migrate away from using tables since they give trouble to responsive themes on handhelds for some reason. If its a product page and not a category/landing/comparison page I'll paste in a large image of my product(aligned center) and generic "click here to get more information" etc.
Following this, if its a category page, I'll just continue to list information, and make my page a good resource if anybody finds it. I'll list types of baby bouncers, what to look for in baby bouncers, when is it time to upgrade from a bouncer to a jumper, should you go cheap or expensive, etc. Just continue to paste in nice pics, and on a whim I might add another general amazon link.
If it is a product page, I list attributes instead, and if I can find a picture online of an unboxing I'll paste that in(aligned right). Next, I'll list positives of the product, then negatives of the product, and then a final analysis/conclusion. I'll post pics of the product being used throughout(rotating alignment, just the right mix of them), and embed a video of the product review if there is one online.
My home page is 1k-1.5k of general niche information. Affiliate links are optional, I don't really care if I rank it. All of my pages including my homepage have a right sidebar. As an option, you can embed a neat video(if you find one) at the top of the right sidebar to increase time on site. Underneath I have a 250x250 image of my logo which links to my homepage. Underneath that, I have all of my categories listed. Underneath that, are pages that didn't make sense as a category page but are keywords that I want to target. So example if your doing a cooking site and your categories are pots, pans, stoves, etc. but you want to target the keyword "best cookware material" which doesn't make sense in a category, this is where you would stick it. You can also create and stick here categories which are just too small to branch out into a landing page, so like "best garlic mincer" or something like that, which might get quite a few hits on google but have few keywords and products which are worth going after.
Landing pages same thing as above, but I have an additional link to the homepage above the category pages, and obviously instead of miscellanious pages beneath the categories will be all of my landing page specific articles/reviews.
Support articles include a single link to home page, single link to category, and then links to all relevant pages within the silo.
BTW, I'm constantly evolving what I do and refining it. Obviously what I did in the past still works but you can always tweak stuff around and also outsource!

Very good method friend, SILO works well for ranking.
One day I hope to get into drop shipping or maybe even develop my own product. Much higher reward there if you can do it right, but its a huge learning curve. I've actually written a 30k page book on social dynamics but its collecting dust, might do some PPC in the future. One monster goal at a time though.
