    HI everybody

I am an a young entrepreneur trying to learn more about this SEO thing.

I recently finish my ecommerce website. I am ready to make some sales.
But the thing is i only get 50 visitors per day...And they only come from classified ads. I would like to know how can I improve this and attract more customers? My website is really well done, I spend a lot of time on it and my price beat most of the salers on ebay but still dont get a lot of visits. I use oscommerce for it and add all the necessary addons that it needed (URL_SEO, Meta Tags, etc) now what do I have to do?

So far I understand I need to build a lot of links to it. and the Higher PR the better. I see some post with free backlinks but I dont know how to use them...

Also which one is better? Build 10k of links everyweek or take my time and build it slowly?

    Thanx in advanced

first make sure you do all the right keyword research -- google keyword tool, exact, look for a major keyword you can compete in -- type it into google and make sure it's less than 4-5 mil. Maybe check it with quotes to see your real competition out.

Put your keywords you find and long tail keywords into your site.. keyword research is very important. Create a sitemap. Check out "the link juicer" . Also you might to submit articles to:
    1.ezinearticles.com
    2.ehow.com2547
    3.ArticlesBase.com
    4.buzzle.com
    5.helium.com
    6.webpronews.com
    7.goarticles.com
    8.articlesnatch.com
    9.articledashboard.com
    10.articlealley.com
    11.searchwarp.com
    12.pubs.acs.org/hotartcl
    13.amazines.com
    14.ideamarketers.com
    15.isnare.com

In addition you want to go for natural link building..
google search the main sites in your niche -- then start link building in the "links resources" at the bottom of the page. Look up blog carnivals. Look up directory submissions. Look for free blog commenting tooks on this forum. Just get your backlink out there but make it look natural. Look up Onlywire. Submit "controversial stories" to social bookmarking sites.

Don't do PR STorm or really blackhat stuff, or you'll get deindexed and even if you don't it's too much risk.

    Hope this helps.

I've got an e-commerce site up and running and it takes about 800 uniques before I see a sale. :(

I get an average of 450 uniques p/day...so that doesn't add up to a ton of sales in any way.

Brittany46 told me he had some friends with e-commerce sites who told him that it took about 900-1,000 hit to earn a sale.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but you may need to get your traffic numbers WAY up before you see conversions.

That being said...I'm converting my site over to an Ebay portal this week. That level of traffic would earn a far better return that way.

You need backlinks. Tons of them.So start targeting the products that are easiest to rank and work your way up.

Regarding e commerce conversion it would be really interesting to hear other opinions as I am looking into this area myself.:)

buddy , usually its good to intergrate a ecommerce site with an autoblog , that way you get more visitors , but if you have already created an ecommerce site , then you should start a series of autoblogs , under that domain . like subdomains . that way you can spread the word out easily .

and yeah , use banners pointing to the e-store.

    all the best

What do you guys suggest?

affiliates are a great way to go if your markup has room enough for a decent commission. You should also get a well written press release put together and submitted.

The site looks good btw.. what shopping cart script are you using?

I'm sick about questions like 'now what?'. If you don't know how to do it then why u build the website in the first place? Learn first and only after you gain some knowledge ( or have the money to invest ) , open an online shop. Don't do it and the ask 'now what'...

If this forum was around (perhaps it was, but I didn't find it) when I had an ecommerce site, I would have employed a variety of the SEO services available by fellow members, sign up to a rank tracker (just google rank tracker), create a multitude of social media accounts and use viral apps to build up followers. Long term, invest in and learn seo tactics and tools.

You could also build a replica of your shop in an ebay store, build up an email a list of customers from your ebay sales and invoice them with your website details. Adjust prices and use promotions to entice them to your main shop.

Try utilizing fiverr type sites to outsource promotion work.
