My domain expired

I bought the domain 1,5 years ago for like 9$ heavyweightlifting com that expired, but i didn't do anything, so i wanted to check if someone bought the domain.

apparently after it expired a firm named dropcatch bought the domain and is now selling it for 2k$
wut? lol. is it really that much worth?

So there are people looking for expiring domain out there to buy? seems like a good idea, but very annoying!

This domain is registered.

It's a good domain.
Not 2K but it worth way more than register price!

Yes, a lot of domainers are doing this...

There are many domain registrar who are following the same way to increase their business. After domain expiration, those people used to keep the domain for the auction. The best deal used to get final.

Yeah, GoDaddy sells expired domains in auctions. Btw that's a good domain. You should've renewed it though.

You should have a main spreadsheet, where you keep track of when each domain expires,
and then put in a column with how many days left to expire, then you can see how many days are left, or if you prefer, set a reminder in your google calender on the day before expiry to re-register.
