whenever i get too much stuff i just create a new folder and drag and drop everything into that folder. After a while it turns into folder inception

"Zoinks! You've taken a wrong turn."

It looks like the image is gone.

Anyway, I like to keep my desktop clean, so there aren't even any folders on it.

I have a folder called "JOBS." Within my Jobs folders I have folders of current projects I'm working on, usually labeled by Number. Ex: 185500. I also have a "COMPLETED" folder that I keep completed projects in. I just go in there when I need to make changes, etc. I usually back everything up by disk as well.

For miscellaneous things such as software and what not, theres an "Others" folder containing many different folders. I just search for what i need in there.

I just had a glimpse of hell.

I only have program shortcuts on my desktop, and only the ones I use most frequently. There are exactly 10 icons on my desktop. It's great because I can still see my Sailor Moon wallpaper.

Shut up.

For work, I have a folder in My Documents called "Content Writing." I put all my work in there. I organize it by client names and projects. After 30 days, I delete all previous projects. Since I sent it to them via email, if I need it again I will just go into my email and download it again.

I like a clean desktop, like Z. Hell, I like an organized comp. I can't imagine sorting through that shit storm of fuckery to get to something I wanted. I'd have to seek professional help.

Haha, I was doing the same, "cleaning" the mess into folders again and again... But when I started using Mac I am trying to keep it clean as much as I can :)

I cannot work with a desktop like that. It just, I don't know. Annoys me.

Bro, is that windows 98? Lol

my desktop is full, test test test, then save in to neat little folder.

lol a friend of mine have a desktop just like you. I personally prefer to only have 10-15 icons max on the desktop.

Awesome organizational skills man! That's exactly how cluttered my crap looks. I wonder if we would be more productive if we adopted a more linear approach to putting folders and files we are currently working with on the desktop, but to keep everything else in proper directory structures. I mean truly ... all my folders are well labeled. I just never move them off the desktop and I manipulate hundreds of files every day.

There has to be a real solution.
