Hey, I'm targeting very specific niche, people wh like to host dinner parties, people who like home decor, etc.
For some reason, I see a huge CPC when I try to launch FB ads - facebook says my bid will be around $1-$3 per click!!!
Doesn't makes sense.. am I doing something wrong?
I tested it and even if I just try to target other stuff, completely unrelated, like people from canada, the CPC is still very high!
    Any advice? I'm really frustrated...
    thanks

    a couple of things
Your audience is too focused. FB does better with bigger audiences; the fallacy is that its not as targeted. Keep it broad might help you abit (but you lose the focus) with the cpc's.

Pixeling your site with the fb pixel. This might be a good trick since this allows facebook to optimize their bidding to get people who are likely to click through.

Device targeting: Is your LP mobile friendly? Desktop cpc's will be higher due to the inventory.

You might want to test right hand and newsfeed and see which one you can exclude. again this is only desktop targeting.

FB's bidding auction is different from adwords. Ive been told that fb can optimize on an adset level if it has more than 25 objectives per day. [with the fb pixel in place on the conversion/landing page]

    just to follow up
audience data is rather something interesting from fb. if you can pixel your landing page with the fb pixel, you can look in the audience tab to see what kind of demographics you come up with.

Then set up a broad based targeting adset and see if you can get similar results.
