My conversion rate is terrible. How can I improve it?

Hi blackhatworld,
On my ecommerce website I have a terrible conversion rate. I just checked google analytics and it said 23 unique people viewed the checkout page, but then when I check my sales they are 0. Is there any way I can improve this I am using the standard opencart checkout. What I think the problem might be is (1) I don't have SSL (2) I only accept paypal (3) My theme looks terrible and boring, but they have already made it to checkout so I don't why that would be a problem. (4) I charge extra for overseas shipping so maybe some overseas people leave there.

What do you think is a way to improve conversion rate?

Alright first you need an SSL to get confidence back in your customers. 2. Try to spice up your theme a little bit. But yeah a link to see the website would help if you feel comfortable posting it.

almost the same thing happens to me,to my site,i can see many people visit checkout page,but no one succeed to pay,can we talk a little more about it

You basically summed it up yourself. You know your theme is boring, you've changed it but does it sell your product to the audience? You have the wrong attitude, they haven't made it to the checkout, you should be concerned with the sell until they've completed their purchase.

Shoot me a PM and I can possibly help with the sales part of it, more so as in the wording and converting. I write sales letters on the side, so this is my type of thing.
