My Cold E-mail Marketing Journey...

Nice and ambitious journey OP.

Your setup can do the job, except the warm up, you really need one to ensure you get a good deliverability over time and not having to burn and buy new domains every week.

Bonus tips :

- try to send only to nominative email addresses, not generic ones, that sucks for deliverability.
- if you want to crush it with open rates, don't shoot more than 200 emails per day per email address / domain. If you shoot from several email address, get 1 email address per domain. Because if one of the addresses gets flagged as spam, it won't contaminate all the others. But if you do this, you have to send a different email content between your sending addresses too.
- max 3 words for the subject lines, lower case only (tested it on hundred of thousands of emails sent, no lower case subject lines = higher open rate)
- make sure the email body is not always the same between recipients > personalize at least the name or the company name / website name.
- when you validate your lists with debounce, zerobounce or whatever you'll find catchall. At the beginning, limit the proportion of catchall to 1/4 of your list maximum, the other 3/4 are Success. Because approximately 20% of catchall emails will bounce according to my stats.
- for the warm up service, you can use Mailreach, it works pretty well.

sorry, I don't understand: lower case subject lines is good or bad to get higher open rate?

NOTE: I'm a beginner at this and will make ton of very stupid mistakes right from day one so feel free to comment below, ask questions or even better give me some solid advice (need it) along the way.. I know that I have a lot to learn about this and l really need to digg deaper into this and learn more to get this business to where I want it to be.. but I'm a true believer in "learning by doing" so lets get started and take it as we go..

Don't really have a set monthly goal other than that I really want to master this, if I can do it .... money will for sure follow.. and what is better time to start than during this fckn corona hell we are all going through.. (also.... sorry for my english)

Don't really know what the heck I'm doing so this will be a trial and error journey since this cold-email thing is a new adventure for me.. I've been online for many years pushing affiliate offers via blogs and sites but google shoot me down so that's why I want to give this a serious try..

Ok, so what's the game plan here?...

The way i'm going to approach this:
1) scrape emails from niche sites, forums, FB pages, groups etc ...
2) clean all emails...
3) send a "welcome email" with a link to my bridgepage/optin page with a free download, video, ebook etc to collect emails..
4) clean out all the bounces, complaints, buyers and unsubscribe requests...
5) keep sending emails daily to my niche lists...
6) rinse and repeat...

Tools of the trade:

- Amazon SES and my own postal smtp server with several churn and burn domains...
- Mautic and ab bulkmailer...
- Atomoc email hunter...
- email cleaning services like zerobounce and debounce...
- Setup VPN... to start with
- Aged FB accounts...
- Different affiliate networks like Clickbank, W+, Maxbounty etc

---------------
Notes to my self:
-Send all traffic to bridgepages or leadcapturepages. never direct to the affiliate page or link...
-Make sure the email content is relevant for the recipients...
-Strive to keep the subject line simple, to the point, short and avoid the use of spam words...
-Content consistent with the subject line and no URL shorteners...
-Use txt only to ensure that the email renders well on different devices...
-Keep bounces and complaints to a minimum by using list cleaning services:...
-Always keep a close eye on the open rate, click-through rate, bounce rate, spam complaints, spam trap hits, etc
and that there is an unsubscribe link in every email I send along with my contact info.
-Clean out all the bounces, complaints, and unsubscribe requests.
---------------

DAY 1:
Today is all about setting all this stuff up and give it a test run, start slowly.
Just got the atomic email hunter, installed the VPN and have a few FB accts to play with..

Today's goal is to digg in and harvest some emails and maybe send a few small test email blasts...

---------------

I really don't know the best way to go with this or even if I have the right tools to do it.. =)

As I said above, I have never done this before but I will give it a serious try and will try to update all my mistakes here..

The reason I'm doing this journey is for myself, a way for me to keep focused during this bumpy road..
Also for you guys so you don't have to do the same stupid mistakes, hopefully
this will save you a lot of time and money...

This is my way of saying thank you to this awesome community.. ..

Am I on the right track here? What have I missed? Comment below.. =)

ANY HELP IS MUCH APPRECIATED!! =)

why you say "no URL shorteners"?
for email marketing URL shorteners are essential ... otherwise how do you plan to direct users from emails to landing pages?

what do you mean about "send only to nominative email addresses, not generic ones"? emails like "[email protected]"?

Only lowercase = higher open rate = good

Yes, [email protected] or [email protected] - You want to target people, personally, not groups of people.

great trick!
however, for a large number of emails it is really difficult to distinguish between nominative and general emails. you have to invent some excel function to identify proper names within the body of the email... or is there already a program that does it?

Best of luck, I look forward to seeing how this goes.

To identify generic emails : just look for "contact", "sales", "hello", "hr", this kind of obvious ones.

And to extract the name out of the email to use it in your body : dropcontact does that if I remember well.

Or you could try something in excel with a VLOOKUP formula. Just get a list of thousands of first names and do a kind of VLOOKUP on it, comparing it with your email column.

good, just the same solution that I would have used with Excel too

Any news OP, how your deliverability is going ?

It is an interesting journey. Can you help me? I want to make cold emails for my company, where I can buy the people's emails? Or other advice

@HuffMarketing can you post some updates please - good or bad. This is an interesting journey and would love to hear about your road blocks or successes.

Well this guy hasn’t been online for 1 month.. hopefully he is just busy emailing away lol

Anyways, great post and hope everything is working well for you.

This journey is dead and I believe OP has failed and abandoned this journey.
