    Hi,

About 4 months ago I started sending bulk mail. I monitored my website via GoogleAnalytics and, for more and less 1200 email I used to send per day, it had about 40 visits coming from the emails each day.

My mail lists come most from Skymem site.

I used two methods of sending emails:

    - using gmail pop to send half of the emails
    - using php mail list on my hostgator account to send the rest

Now I'm using only the hostgator account, cause I'm afraid of having my gmail account banned. I realized that hotmail and yahoo blocked my emails from the hostgator account, so I exclude all hotmail and yahoo emails before sending.

Still, for the same 1200 per day, I'm having about 10 visits per day on my site.

Anyone could have a clue of what should I do? Do you believe I'm using a good method to send bulk mail?

I've heard of people using VPS to send it, would it be a good method? My hostgator account is normal and I use the php mail list tool.
Also, are the mail lists from Skymem reasonably good?

Thank you a lot in advance.

I would change the receiver, for starters. Try spoofing it.. If your list is targeted, selected an authority name within that niche would help tremendously..

Or try leading them on, perhaps with a question you know will intrigue their interest.

Your ips have been blacklisted. Dump your server, get a new one, reset it up new. Fresh ips, request to check ips before they give them to you.

Well buddy, there are many many reasons for that.

    1) Your server's IPs are blocked and in different blocklists. Go check out: http://mxtoolbox.com
    2) Your domain is banner, you can check it in Mxtoolbox too
    3) Your email's content is bad.. only few people actually click on spammy links
    4) Your email's title is bad.. people won't open your emails
    5) Email providers block your email and mark it as spam

    etc..

Just make sure those variables are ok and you should be good to go

Thank you very much for your help,

I checked my domain (mysite domain) and my hostgator ip and dns, and all seems ok on mxtoolbox, I also checked the hostgator ip on spamhaus and it was ok.

The title of my emails and the content is the same I used months ago, with much better results. In fact, I just offer web design services via email.

I checked a bit my statistics, and I'm with the impression that I was pretty more succesful when sending via Gmail POP, and that I was never really succesful sending via hostgator.

Maybe because the phpmaillist has always an image with it (the phpmaillist sign), it difficults?

I'm thinking on hiring a VPS only to send emails. Let's suppose that I want to send 45 thousand emails per month.
By your experience, this is considered much usually? It's probable that my VPS would have me banned?

I'm thinking on changing all my email to yahoo, to use again gmail pop to send bulk, and don't be afraid of getting banned.
Is it crazy to send bulk mail via Gmail POP? I say gmail cause I never could make hotmail or yahoo work for it.
Also... May mail spam prejudice a site PageRank on google, or this kind of thing doesn't exist?

    Thank you in advance.

By niche you mean the list of emails I selected? I get them on skymem, searching for terms related to my region.
What ways do you use for bulk mailing? Do you also use tools like 'phpmaillist' or gmail pop, or there are better ways?

Your mails are not go to the inbox folder, that's pretty much explains it all. Try to pick paid services from the companies that allow to do e-mail marketing

Also try to use Email Services like Getresponse with the same targeted email list To see the difference between your click-through-rate. They don't charge you for the 1st month.

there are many reasons for this to happen, inbox is best but hard to hit and nobody sends 100% of list to inbox. Maybe for litlle lists, but if bigger no way. first make sure all ur mails are delivered bcz some ppl reading even if mail came to bulk folder,, then maybe mail lists are crap and used alot look to buy better mails somewhere, most important need to change sender ip's so get as many you can smtps or phpshells if u using php scripts to upload and mail, always have ready and create new letters filters are very good these days.. search ams 4.3 its free and use it on ur windows vps and if u get smtps best option if u ask me.. its old but still very good soft, if u need some help for mailing just ask..

Check your offer. Even if the delivery is 100% , the reason #1 the message get deleted is because the recipient does not like what is offered or how it is offered.

With emails you need to soft sell em, also offering webdesign through email is just stupid. Try making a article about websites with your webdesign service somewhere tucked away in.

Maybe your content is outdated. People's interest in things die out in time, that might be it.
