If you don't mind me suggesting, you should create a blog through Wordpress. Much easier to install cool looking themes and set them up. You can install plugins for tracking visitors, there are tons. There are also plugins for you to easily insert Adsense ads on your blog so you can start making money on it. Google Adsense is a good way to monetize a blog.

Much better to go with WordPress.org not .com, more freedom. There are plenty of good, cheap hosts on here and free themes, plugins on WordPress.org
