it's not even profitability, it's the fact that there's always a bigger website that got to my idea first.

e.g I was thinking of making a superhero film website that gives info on the latest superhero films and it's already been done

then i wanted to make a website about tips for playing fifa(the popular soccer video game) and thats already been done

what should i be doing? looking for micro niches?

It's rare to come up with a new niche. You just have to make your site better than the competitions.

how am i going to do that with limited money and noob experience?

ask mark zuckerberg. he might have some insight into how his website that he built on his laptop beat a company that had 50 million in cash reserves.

Using the search button here + alot of reading, dedication and hard manual labour!

If theres already someone in the niche, crush them. Make a better site. Get better content. Advertise more. Rank better than them.

I would normally just click thanks and add rep, but I wanted to make sure you realised this is the most important peice of advice you will receive on this subject.

The 'how' and the fact you think of yourself as a noob is neither here nor there. Everyone who has ever ranked a site, or created a succesful business was a noob at some point.

From the money point of view, if you need to make more money to invest as you go then do that. If you want it badly enough you'll do whatever it takes.

As for the experience, there are plenty of tutorials on this forum alone that will help you get started.

The key thing here is do not let the fact that the competition is bigger, better, longer established stop you from doing.

If you're really stuck for what to search to even get started, go read the making money section for a few hours, make a few notes, then tomorrow review the threads you thought you might be able to learn from, pick an idea and put it into action.

OP, you should always assume that there is going to be someone in your wanted niche. So don't be suprised when you have competition. Feed off of competition. That should push you each day to make your blog as good as it can be. It gives you something to strive for. Beat the competition. Don't let the competition beat you.

what should i search?

Go look in a magazine, find a topic or product, do some keyword research, if theres something their with an alright level of competition, just make sure you create a better site and diversify your SEO plan and you shall beat them in rankings and make money.

You need to read the forum, ask appropriate questions AFTER you have searched for the answer here without any luck..

With some hard work and dedication you can reach your goals and rank for most keywords!

Seriously, you need to first reach 15 posts first so you can at least pm or create a skype and contact me.

Luckily I am currently about to build 4 sites from scratch with the similar concept in mind and could use u as a case study and teach you what to do while creating a product to release later so... get to that immediately and dont miss the flight.

Cheers! :plane:

There are plenty of keyword research tut's out there. What you need to find is the gap that their site isn't hitting. Find that niche within the niche and target that, then build from there. Start with a pinpoint niche and build out!

It is a hit and miss game out there ... competition means there is money to be made. You just have to read and implement/action to find what works.

If it was easy everybody would be doing it, right? You are here and lots of people to learn from .. so ask when you get into your project when something isn't working.

Others here hire a coach so consider that when you have a few dollars in your pocket

Work at making inroads into the niche. While it would be great to be #1 in the serps for "superhero" work on long tail keywords and build your way up. Work on a keyword that you can rank for like "supehero movies 2012" (I didn't look to see if there was any weight to that keyword, it was just an example) and then keep building up your site.

In the nineties there might have been virgin niches, but there aren't many out there today. So pick something you don't mind busting your tail over and take action. Analyze what your competition has done and do it better.

i'm being realistic guys, I'm 16, still in school and have no prior website building knowledge.

I don't see how I'm going to create a better website than top ranks in google.

If the main niche is to hard focus on more of a longtail maybe. Start small don't expect to be making huge money off your first site. Try for a longtail it may not have that many searches per month but its better to get some traffic off longtails then none off the main keyword because your can't compete with your competition.

You are not likely to find a niche which has not been visited by internet marketers. The best thing is doing your own better than what they do.

wow he got banned after 1 post and 3 neg reps? That must have been some post lol

Edit: Just read his post...

I read this thread & the posts and I'm in the same situations:

I have a blog on a certain niche and 'trying' to rank for a keyword. I am getting visitors (20uv's daily) and the site is 1.5 months old...
In USA I am on page 2-2 for my keyword and global: 3-4...

The biggest problem is not the niche but how to get the traffic... you can simply take your books from school about biology or something and start making a blog on certain stuff based on the keywords.

But HOW the hell do you rank a website, even if there are like 6000 searches each month with NO SEO tools, not being able to buy SB blasts because of the fresh domain... I have been thinking for weeks on how to get ranked and/or get the traffic... no success....

I have youtube video's on my channel and a total of 2k views for them (last month) and getting 50-100 views daily in total... but those don't help a thing (watermarked & descript. link)...
There is nothing left than ranking in google, I personally have low competition & those on page one aren't so SEO'd... but still why does it take so much time...
I'm lazy to build backlinks because I don't really see any results from them, it's like wasting your time on something you don't know if it will work...

I can talk as much as I want but without the proper action there will be no reaction, so I'm searching to make my own spinned method on how to get the traffic as I find backlink building worthless
