My BBC do follow backlink

A few years ago I picked up a do follow back link from the BBC news site. They don't give them out anymore and all other things being equal, this (I believe) had kept me above all other sites in my niche for years. This year Panda, Penguin and EMD have hurt me badly, but that's another story.

I was thinking about linking back to this news article and a few others by adding a "My site in the press section". My question is, what is the best way or ways to link back to the BBC article without diluting the link juice?

How to link back?

1. A straight 'do follow' link
2. A 'nofollow' link
3. Just make some Web 2.0 links to the BBC article
4. Link back from my Facebook and Google+ pages
5. Don't link back at all

Where to link back from?

1. The site footer (sitewide)
2. A single article page
3. Just the Web 2.0 pages

Ok, Facebook and Google+ links are in place. Not sure how Google can see the FB links though, does FB produce a crawlable profile page?
