Right, I am building small highly targeted niche sites.

I like to do things simply so I am currently doing social bookmarking, web 2.0 and writing articles.

Now my problem is the articles. I am submitting to ezines and the qaulity of these articles are actually really good and unique, have around 50 health articles in total.

As the main aim is for backlinks not traffic is there any point in putting the duplicate content around other article sites or will the backlinks not really count for much?

I have automatic article submitter but do not want it to cause any harm to my sites!

    Cheers

I am a big fan of spinning, but I can tell you I once took a PLR, made no edits other than to add links to my site and posted this article on a few Web 2.0 blogs.

Sure enough, the backlinks from each stuck and I got a bump in the SERPs.

There are two strong camps on this subject:

    1. Dupe content doesn't matter (which I've seen)
    2. Fresh unique content is King (which makes sense and I've seen this work too).

Bottom line? If you spin you have a higher chance of success rather than just copying and pasting the same thing all over the 'net.

Article marketing should be about creating sales platforms which can drive traffic, not backlinks. The amount of work required to get just a backlink from ezine articles is way above its worth in the serps as a backlink alone.

Write ezine articles, then spam them with links to rank high and funnel traffic to your money site. Doing ezine articles for a measly backlink is a total waste of resources.

I have come to the conclusion that dupe content is not a big issue as long as it's not on one domain. Generally I do spin my content after submitting the main articles to the proper directories such as ezine. Then I'll just use power article rewriter and spin a few sentences within the paragraphs. No need to take up a whole lot of time with it, just spin some and move on. Then I spin about 20 or 30 copies and use that content for all my free blogs simply for the back links.

I have 3-5 web 2.0 platforms that I use to rank on page one as secondary sites and feeders to take up multiple listings on page one. On these I will take a little more time to use a mix of unique content as well as spun content. I have never had any issues so far and the sites have always stuck.

I agree with Micallef on his point about using article marketing as it is a proven strategy, however I don't limit myself to that sole purpose. I also use article marketing for back links creation. I will submit popular topic articles and use the author resource box to put links to whatever sites I need whether or not they are of the same topic of the article or not. Those articles go the distance and will be picked up for years to come creating a constant flow of back links for you, especially since they are within popular topics.

So, overall I have success with using dupe content for web 2.0 platforms used specifically to be indexed and used as a back link, not to be ranked on page one. The handful of strong web 2.0 sites I use to actually rank on page 1 I will allot more time to but do include spun content.

Google has actually taken some juice away from ezine articles. Although its still A good backlink it doesnt carry as much weight as it used to. Honestly the only good thing about ezines is that surge of traffic you get right when the article is published. But as soon as you get bumped off the recently published list it is just another article directory.

Not to mention the annoying approval process where they just keep coming up with these petty excuses for not publishing articles. I mean really anchor text cant be more then 3 words? That is A total joke.

Even the other I submit an article related to an electronic accessory to ezinearticle. Few days later they email me ask me to submit a ticket to them. I then submit ticket asking whats up. They then reply to me saying that my article is too commercial and they would not going to publish it.

I just feel funny. Why not they just disapproved and state in the site instead of going a long way then only saying they are not going to approve my article.

There is and probably always will be the debate about dupe content, no reason for me to add to the fodder. On my end, in most cases I'll spin my articles then distribute them widely, figure that way I'm covering both end. But do agree with Micallef, try to make it quality content.
