I need to vent. I dont have anybody in the real world who understands seo stuff so I have to vent here

like 2 months ago, I found a low OBL web page to comment on. It was perfect, PR6 OBL almost zero, lots and lots of backlinks not only to the domain, but also to that specific page. So I commented and to my surprise, it was auto approve.

for the past 2 months, it survived, and I finally hit #1 for my targeted keyword, I suspect because of this one backlink.

Then today I was checking my analytics and I noticed a hit from that site. I was like "fuck" and I went to the site, sure enough they have removed me. Now I am just waiting for G to take notice and place me back down to where i was :( :(

Was your comment along the lines of "Cool blog thanks for the share"?

no, that's why it hurts so much, I spent a lot of time reading through the entire thing and made a really insightful and relevant comment :(

There are many services here selling PR5-4 links for a good price.
If your niche is good and already making money, then go ahead and buy good links.

Just forget the PR6 link. Use google alerts and I am sure you will easily find PR3 or 4 links within a week and related to your niche.

Next time, cloak the page. Every time someone comes from that site (check the ref), store the ip and serve them a "Sorry, the site is down for maintenance" page. Not bulletproof, but just a quick hack that will work most of the time ;)

wow, that's brilliant. I would like to know more. How would I do this? Doesn't this hurt rankings? I thought cloaking is bad?

You 're not cloaking against Google, so it doesn't care one bit. You 're cloaking against the visitors from that specific site ;)

The script is simple. Check the referrer, is it matches, save the ip in the db, serve the special page to anyone coming from that ip.

Very bad for you.Comments always very risky sometimes it multiply when it in come in the recent comments and when the go down you loose authority.

is this done through htaccess? I did some research but still dont know what's the right way of doing it. Can I have the code?

I don't have something that you can copy paste and make it work. Bast thing to do is pay someone $20 in the Hire A Freelancer section to make you a WP plugin (I assume you use WP).
