My Automated Wordpress Blog Attempt

I've been writing my own custom theme for wordpress. It's a responsive, mobile first, Gulp, Sass to compiled and minified css, HTML5 Markup... Flat / Simple 2 column template. And It look like this: http://i.imgur.com/jLoIxEQ.gif

I want it to be a site with memes, funny images, porn, wallpapers, maybe game video embeds and so on (not if I finally try to go for adsense)... To fill it with posts I'm trying to avoid RSS plugins. I just prefer to scrape content from sites like Reddit or Tumblr (grab titles, images, caption, tags and so on) store them in a database and make a custom script to schedule random posting...

I was thinking to use CrakRevenue, RevenueAds, BitterSrawberry, PlugRush or Juicy Ads If a go NSFW. Adsense if SFW...

But I see a problem with all that. More or less... (Automation != SEO). Since this is an image based theme, titles must be related to images, image file names should be something like baby-goat-jumping-a-fence.jpg and then set the alt="" attributes properly. But taking the content from reddit / tumblr I end with a bunch of shortened url's that looks like i.imgur.com/j5bfxm.jpg and this isn't SEO Friendly... Then I'm struggling / thinking / wondering how or where to get "SEO Ready" content... Or if it's worth the effort of manually editing scraped titles / tags / filenames.

I Know that building traffic online is HARD for the most of us. I have a custom bot for tumblr. And I can easily drive 500 to 1000 daily unique visits. If I go for SFW content I though I also could make one for facebook groups... With a paid domain + legit / SFW Content facebook shouldn't ban / block me...

What do you think guys/girls ? How that strat and the theme looks for you ? Any suggestion for content sources or SEO ?

But note that this is not an standard theme, It lacks a lot of features. Mainly Because it's self cooked to my needs. Still I have to put a lot of work on the theme (I consider it just a mockup of what I want, an alpha version of a theme). And I need to clean the code (I've messed things a little...) Mmm... Ah and You'll need to deal with the dependencies, look at gulpfile.js and package.json, You'll need NodeJs / NPM, Grunt + Gulp to install these dependencies.

I'm sorry but I will not make a tutorial on how to setup it. Mainly because I'm short on time... But google is your friend, look for gulp, grunt, npm tutorials... and you'll see it's self explanatory.

Still if you can't setup all of that, you can get the files + the compiled (not minified) css file and link it manually. This way you'll not need these packages / environment but you'll must continue developing it "manually"... It uses flexbox rather than css frameworks... Can be a good start point if you don't know what flexbox is.

Today I'm going to code a script to fill wordpress with posts I've decided to scrape image urls + related titles + tags and then post them in wp using url's rather than uploading them (a great advantage if using shitty free hostings with low hdd capacity) !!

Does anyone know if adsense accepts tk domains ?

I know. But at least I think its done the right way. With the right tools. Gulp, Sass, you know... A good foundation, while keeping it simple.

You're right that On-Page SEO need some work. Ideas to improve the SEO part ?

I've scraped reddit to get posts, with related titles + images. I've wrote my first version of the wordpress poster, I still need to tweak the tags part, but it works quite well... I'm using the title of the post for the alt="" tags of the images... But now I have 15K in my database. I can get a heartattack if I have to manually fix them. Is SAD that reddit doesn't use tags... Maybe I should scrape tumblr Instead. But urls will be shortened too so the SEO problem will be still there...
