What anti-virus is it? Some of them take a real job to get rid of. I'd start with Revo Uninstaller. Google it. it's free.

If you are on windows, go to your search bar on desktop, search “configuration” and then an application will pop up called something along the lines of configuration. Go to remove apps, select the thing you want removed, remove it and restart your pc entirely
