All your motivational threads are really practical and we can associate with them. I would like to ask you a question. When you were starting the full time IM, was there any fear (s) ? If yes, how did you fight against them. Also do you think that risk taking capacity increases as you move ahead.

Another good question! I had a few job offers on the table out of University but I had always wanted to run my own business and thought being young was the best time to start while I didn't have many personal/financial commitments. Everyone told me it was a stupid thing to do, but I went for it anyway.
Before I went full-time I was making *some* money (not enough to pay the bills, I was living with parents). The first thing I did was moved out to a new house so I had rent and other bills to pay. It might sound stupid - but I found it a lot easier to motivate myself when I HAD to make money. If you're comfortable with no worries, it's unlikely you're ever going to get anywhere or build anything of note. It also made me learn to hustle - I had no cash so had to make money from nothing. I work best when under pressure like that.
I probably take less risks now than when starting out. I have more to lose now, so my lawyer & accountant advises me against lots of things that I would have done before (not illegal things, but things that could cause issues). I do take bigger risks (in terms of cash invested), now, but it's more calculated as I have more experience.

Bear in mind that's just total revenue over 3 years... just sounds good when you say it like that! Hoping to hit that number in revenue this year as we grow, though.

Most of our income is brokering, so I don't have to buy sites to then sell (the only sites I buy now are to keep as investments). Brokering is a lot of hard work to build up, but as it's largely reputation - that's not something you can buy so costs are mainly staff, office, taxes etc.

Emotional attachment is a great lesson... I know how this can keep you down.
"They may pick up on obvious issues you have overlooked." I can relate to that... The major problem I had with one website of mine was solved by chatting with a good friend that had no knowledge at all of marketing, sometimes you just have to listen.
If I may ask, what can you say about your speed in implementing new projects? Do you cover every angle or you just go for it?
