My 2012 IM Journey

Hi everyone,

I have seen a few of these threads in the past and found them quite motivational. I have decided to start one myself partly to try to help others and gain advice myself but also to keep myself motivated.

If I am updating this thread regularly then I will have to make sure I am doing something to post about.

A little background - I am currently working as a self employed driving instructor but these last 18 months work has been pretty hard to come by due to increased competition and people having less money to spend. I have dabbled with the internet a little bit over the last few years and picked up bits and pieces of information as I've gone along. I own a couple of ecommerce websites that I set up myself. One makes decent money coming up to Christmas and the other one makes small amounts at certain times of the year.

After finding this site a few months back I used a couple of services from here coupled with info that I had read on the forums and have managed to get my Christmas site in top 3 SERPS for my main keywords. I'll be working on this maybe once a month from now on to try and keep it there for the end of this year.

I have bought Scrapebox and have a cracked version of SEnuke X. I am still new to these tools so will be trying to learn them as I go along. I also plan to use some fiverr gigs and maybe some more services from BHW to help along the way.

I have also got other ideas for different sites and projects. I want to try 4 or 5 different things to see what works and makes decent money. I will be updating this thread with what I have been doing along with any progress I have made and any SERP increases etc. Hopefully I will be able to call on some of you for advice on things too.

DAY 1 - 2nd January 2012

Today I am planning to watch some youtube videos to try and learn about wordpress. I have made one site using it a couple of years back but it isn't the best and I want to be more familiar to make better quality sites. I will also try and do a little bit of keyword research for one or two of the projects that I am looking to start.

Good luck with your plans! Remember that Google loves a variety of links and I wouldn't use scrapebox to create backlinks to your money site unless you are very careful and only post to high PR and non AA blogs. Also, talking about cracked senukeX isn't allowed here as its on the do not share list

Sorry I didnt realise that. To be honest I have been considering getting the genuine version anyway as the cracked version isn't the best and plays up a lot. Just not sure if its worth the monthly cost. I may be better using fiverr gigs for my SEnuke campaigns.

I believe you will make it. Keep us updated frequently so that you will not move away from your track. I see a lots of journey threads popping out. Its hard to maintain the flow, so make sure you are going to make it till the end.

Thanks. That is the main reason that I have done it. It is easy to get sidetracked but if I know I have got to answer to you lot then hopefully it will spur me on to learn and put into practise as much as I can. This isn't going to be full time for me just yet as I am still out and about teaching people to drive but at least 2-3 days a week I should have time to put the work in.

Quick update

Day 2: I have spent some time today watching more videos on Wordpress. Found some quite good ones on YouTube and have picked up quite a bit of info. Started designing a site for one of my projects while watching the videos and following the tips. I'm sure there is still a lot to learn but feel like I'm getting there.

Out working my day job tomorrow but will get back on to this on Thursday.

Hey everyone.

Bet you thought I'd given up already! Was working my day job for a couple of days but basically here is what I have done over the last few days when I have had a spare couple of hours.

Watched YouTube tutorials about Wordpress and tried to learn as much as possible about setting up wordpress sites.

Started setting up wordpress sites for 2 projects. Then discovered that I need a far better site than what I was building for one one of my projects so started looking around at premium wordpress themes to find something good enough for what I need.

Ordered some articles and banners from Fiverr for my sites. The banners came back and were not the greatest in all fairness. Going to see if the guy can fix them but won't hold my breath.

Ordered some facebook likes from Fiverr for a facebook page that I setup for one of my new projects.

Finally I tried to update my version of opencart for an ecommerce site that I own. Followed the directions exactly but seem to have royally fucked it up (pardon my French!) as am getting errors for different parts of the site. May have to restore from backup.

Next week I want to spend some time learning Scrapebox and SEnuke X but also work some more on completing the sites that I started.

IM is hard!!!

nice thread OP, i thank you for this. i am also on bit the same situation at some points with you so i can really connect to this.

i am not so much on the written end so i did not start a thread like that (even if i want to) but i will definitely post my good money method that i will come up with proven success!

Looks good, I am looking forward to reading more about it as the year goes on. It's interesting to go back to when I was the one learning about wordpress and see how far I have come.
