My friend and I do some photography/fundraising/events, here is a web page that I made to spin off from that.
1st time trying to make a site.
Could use some advice, pointers, resources, functionality tips, design/layout critique, direction to make it more legit and appealing to visitors and to improve myself.
I've had some poor responses from social network peers which wasn't helpful, mostly flaming.

Thanks for the feedback!

To be honest and frank, doesn't look legit to me. Seems to be built in the 90s by geeky programmer with no artistic talent. You really shouldn't add Adsense Ads on the website as it further deteriorate the e-commerce appeal and adds fuel for a spam site perception. Within 3 seconds I'll hit the back button.

Why don't you get a simple CMS such as wordpress and attach a nice template with it, it's much more easier and appealing then to build a site on static HTML and CSS.

Did you design it in 90's and posted the link now?

You wasted so much time by designing it with hgsitebuilder. It looks really old and I don't think anyone will buy stuffs from that page as it looks crappy(real review).

Use wordpress or PM Me. I'll design it for you for FREE and teach you how to design great looking ecommerce websites.

Honestly, your design looks out of date. It looks like something that was hip 10 years ago.
You need to give it a fresh look. Take a look at some of the websites on onepagelove.com, for example.
They have a gallery of excellent website designs, maybe you can find some inspiration there.

Thread moved to the "Web Design" section.

I agree with the others but especially the adsense ads. They look like they dont belong there. If you have adsense they should blend in with the colour scheme. But do you want people clicking those ads and leaving your site? Also look at what they are showing....its about credit cards mostly. Complete waste of your space. I would have a look at the template and theme section and look at some of the Wordpress themes there and built a smart site with that.

looks very 1999...you should install a wordpress and download a nice theme from here

I feel for you bud, I am crap at web design but take a look at things like Twitter Bootstrap or Foundation to make a web page quickly using some pre made CSS. Get someone to do some decent images and logo - look at people here or at Fiverr and you are sorted.

I am still shit at CSS/HTML but Bootstrap and the Foundation have helped me get something up quickly and not bad looking :D

I think my botnin ja.com website took an hour or so to put together, its nothing flashy and people will take the piss out of it but it looks a whole lot better than it would if I had to do it from scratch!

Good luck

I will have to agree with the rest of the poll, the design looks amateur and cheap. Try using Joomla or Drupal those are nice platforms to build on and they are easy to install.
