Decided to give local lead generation a try. There's different methods to do this, though what Im doing is building a site targeting a specific niche in a geo-area (city). Lets say acupuncturists. I picked local keywords for it that totaled about 700 searches a month. Then will get it ranked high up for those keywords, & collect most of the people searching for acupuncturists in my area, and forward them to a local acupuncturist for a charge/commission.

Initially I was gonna just build the site, and rent out spots on the site to local acupuncturists for a monthly fee, but I decided I'd rather proof to myself, and them, that its actually increasing their patients, not just trick them into thinking it is. So...

What Ive done so far:
So I made the site, bought 5 manual articles 500 words, for it. Several pages, and a very professional theme. I made a google business listing for the site, got it pin confirmed by mail. For everyone that's asking how, I just used my REAL HOME ADDRESS. Didnt want to, but had to for now. ( I now show up on maps! :D ) Setup a twitter page. Bought a local phone number that forwards and tracks the calls. I then just picked out 5 local acupuncturists and put them on my site with a full profile & images, without them knowing for now, and placed my bought phone numbers, as theirs. So it will forward calls to the actual acupuncturist. Then it if it works, after tracking it for a bit, I can approach them and prove Ive been increasing their patients, and request fees if they want to stay on my site.

So Thats what Ive done, got it all set up. BUT my site is not ranking yet, havent done any seo just yet. My To Do:

Setup Yelp page (Hopefully easy to do, they have to get approved by Yelp 1st)
Buy 125 Twitter Followers with confirmed profiles/avatars
Buy 50 GOOGLE followers/Cirlces for my Google+ Page from long standing USA accounts
Buy SITE citations for 40+ local directories
Buy 3 manual GOOGLE reviews (Yeah its not much for now, I just want the + Page to display a 5 star rating when viewed on maps)
Buy WhiteHat SEO pack with Tier 1 web 2.0 500 word article and tier 2 web 2.0 submissions/pdf with 100 social bookmarks
Buy 30 Manual Blog Comments pr2-6 Do-Follow
Wait for results, then add more SEO....

Then hopefully Ill see some results, and start ranking in the 7box area of google for my Google Listing, and my site in the search results or above the 7box area. Either or should work! I regret not picking a higher end niche, but hopefully this works, I learn from it, and I can start another lead gen site in the higher end niches. If you have any experience or suggestions, feel free to comment!

Good stuff! I actually am going to do this however my strategy is a bit different.

I will simply be creating the website for whatever niche (Travel agency, lawyers, dentists etc) and setting this up to look really nice. I will have a number on the website which they can call which will redirect them to the potential customer. I will use FB ADS to get highly targeted leads to the website and test how many calls I can get through with every 100 clicks. And it won't cost much, thankfully. I just need to find out the conversion rate to calls.

I will first send the potential prospect a few phone calls and ofc, this is tracked. This report will be used to email them and show them the leads sent. A follow up phone call will be how I close the deals. I intially was going to charge a $xx per lead, however I'm just going to set a price for 50+ highly targeted leads/phone calls per month. Might even scale this up and charge more when verified profitable for the client. However, a test run will surely get them hooked to sign up with your services. Sure you have to pay to give them this trial run, but think about the long term client they will become and the premium services you can offer. Pay $200 for a test, receive hundreds per month possibly thousands depending on the type of business/company.

I'm actually gonna find businesses that are spending money on CPC with say Google and approach them with a cheaper, far better solution. This stuff can be very profitable and I look forward to hearing your updates OP, do keep us in the loop of your efforts!

You have my attention, all the best on your journey.

Sounds like a good plan. Best of luck! Btw...how do you verify a fake address for the google business listing?

I used my real address, and got it verified. Didnt want to have to, but its what it takes to get on google maps.

you've got my attention..... what you use to get google place verified? also genius placing #s without them knowing and tracking them to later on call them and say, hey buddy, i just got you 10 calls this month for free. you owe me .

Nice! So your basically posing your site as a fake business, with a really nice site, and then forward the calls? Your not going to list actual nearby lawyers, dentists, etc.. like Im doing, nor deal with yelp or google listings?

I definitely will try that down the road. Its easier than having to deal with all this SEO and verification crap of google. Would be great to get down a profitable method of paid traffic that creates lead, WITHOUT the need of google.

All the luck with your journey!

Hey well I wouldn't necessarily call it a fake business. It's basically a lead generation funnel to get the people connected to a business that can help them with their problems, and I charge them for these leads. These leads would be as good as leads coming from SEO just I don't have to deal with actual SEO and worry about the sites ranking as I just send the targeted traffic to the landing page/website from Geo-targeting on FB ADS, again high quality highly targeted leads. It will have the tracking number on the website which will redirect to the prospects business line which I am trying to close the deal with. Besides a business would be crazy not to accept the phone leads even when I can provide proof I am sending the phone calls.

It's just a matter of getting these leads to them at the right prices for both the business, and myself. It has to be profitable. So if it's going to cost me $300 a month to get them say 50 leads, I will charge $30 per lead for a lawyer, as the amount they can make off of one client will pay for it itself. And if they can close more than one of those leads I send them, then it's a happy deal to continue on for many years to come.

I still am awaiting to do the testing for this and I will update you on how it goes so we can share ideas. Both very worthwhile to take action with. ;)

Okay, I see. Yeah that's essentially what I was envisioning. If I do it, I will have to target something very high end, such as remodeling, driveways, backyards. So I can ask for a commission of the sale or a big fee for the lead. But yeah, let me know! Im just afraid to pay for my traffic cause it can get costly, but if its works well, Its worth it!
