in brutal honesty i would say no

but dont let that discourage you - you have to learn somewhere...

if you want to get into web design, have a look at joomla and creating your own templates - once you get that hang off it you can be knocking out cool looking sites in around about an hour.

better still they are dynamic CMS and if you are charging for them you can let your client update the content themselves... otherwise what happens is you get a load of clients pissed that its taking you so long to update the websites for them...

one extremely important rule dont have you page scroll left to right... unless your doing some kind of artsy site! LOL

UPDATE

I just looked at it again i didnt even realize that the logos where buttons to take you to another area of the site...

For a first attempt its not bad! :)

dont get mad at me, this will help you

to be honest, if im a visitor and i accidentally went on your site, I would surely leave in a heartbeat. The colors amd layout are all wrong. It could even pass for a cult society website.

and yes, you dont make your page wide making people to scroll left to right. You just dont do that

the page looks very 2000ish

its the age of web 2.0 and it would really nice if you can try to learn and incorporate essential elements in your website

in the download area, you will find alot of help
there are templates, joomla and even layout creator

IMO, its great that you are learning, its good to have a firm grasp on html, then move on from there. I really think it would be better using joomla or even wordpress as your CMS, and add content from there. But everybody has to start somewhere, and it does remind me of my early work :)

I think you should look at making the page as simple and clean as possible. Check out wwe.com and look at how simple the page is (including menu and navigation). You must include excellent images and Logo (You're images are ok but the text looks really bad, I would change the font to something very simple, I think that would help a lot). That's what makes a site stand out and makes it sticky. Navigation and menu helps keep em goin into the site. For this, Joomla is a good way to go.

Once you master it, you can create a basic joomla site in an hour or less and customize with polls, message boards, collect emails and HUNDREDS of other things which only take you two minutes to configure but which you will make tons of extra money. Joomla sites look like they took days to make to the average person but can be hammered out in an hour or two with basic content if you have templates handy (or make your own and modify them as you go). Set aside one whole day to deal with Joomla and see if you like it. One day is nothing! It will make you more money in less time.

p.s. i see you really loaded up the keywords when i viewed the source.. lol
also, try re-writing the page without using tables. Mastering divs and css and important as I'm sure you know.

Anyways, good luck. You know what you're doing, keep making sites and keep showing us...

This is my first post. I've been lurking/leeching too long.

Applause for getting started.

Probably most replies will be very similar. It does reek of the 1990s and is way too wide. One page begins by saying it is under construction. If the page isn't ready, probably best to remove the link until it is. At least one link is broken.

Definitely make the Joomla plunge. The learning curve isn't too steep, the time commitment per site isn't too bad (AFTER you figure things out), and the support community is good. If you can't get the hang of templates, there are tons of stuff both free and for a small fee. Either way you'll look like a web site wonder kid with the look and functionality of the site.

Clients being able to add their own content without breaking the site is a plus although I have found most of mine still want to pay me to do it. I can tell them now to stop whining if I'm slow. I did give them a chance to do it themselves.

Good job, good start, for a free site. If your getting paid keep on truckin'. You'll make it.

No, not enough skills to offer your services for cash, but I would suggest you start learning more and doing more practice sites until you get better.
And then you can make money :)

ok cool.

thanks alot guys, i will get my peepers over the suggested material.

Thank you all

Actually that is a very good start! Now, the way to get better quickly is to update yours, all the time based on the best websites you can find. Update or totally redo if you have no other sites to work on. Each time you will do it better, incorporating new ideas and new skills, and in short order YOU will be able to do the best websites you've seen!

ok guys,

havnt had time to look into joomla proper yet, but just did a quick 30 30 min upgrade to the site and it now looks like www.mcw-wrestling.com
(if its not diff then clear your cach) i no its not perfect yet, but i think i have an idea about frames/borders now.
yet again any feedback appreciated.

many thanks bhw!

Hmmm hope ya didnt steal the barbed wire from my site.
Heheheheh na i couldnt give a shit even if ya did.
I stole it from somewhere my self.
Your site needs a lot of work though fella.
But that said you seem to have the basic skill down so as posted earlier i would just play more and more.
As far as CMS well i recon you should get out dreamweaver and get your skills up to scratch.
CMS is the lazy way in my opinion.
Get your coding down then perhaps get lazy and use CMS.

Just my thoughts.

IF you dont have dreamweaver CS3 or cant get it. Couldnt imagine that is possible then here is a cracked version for ya. It is a big file (279 meg) so dont donwload it if ya dont need it.

Code:
h**p://www.mega*upload.com/?d=TDESNKMB
