I do all of my business offline, which requires cold calling, cold visiting, etc. My #1 pet peeve for offline marketing is actually getting through to the business head managers or owners. I cannot stand walking into a business, or talking on the phone to a business to a completely incompetent employee, who has ZERO idea, nor interest in what you're doing. You ask politely to relay your message along with a phone# or business card/business model packet to the head managers or owner of the establishment. Let me just say from experience, the message hardly EVER gets relayed from the servers/bartenders/hostesses to the owners/managers. BUT When the message is relayed, or I'm directly connected to the head of establishment, it's a done deal as far as a sale. Do you guys have any suggestions on bypassing or socially engineering the employee to either directly connect you right then to the manager/owner, or increase the rate of relay message. I thought of making it sound like it was something extremely important that I could not talk to them about, and need the manager/owner to call me back at his/her earliest convenience. Anywho, what are your experiences? Negative or positive it may be. Thanks!
