I created this thread to share with you some Google Search Operators that I use regularly. They're not discussed very often here on the forum, I dunno why though because they are very helpful to me, especially when I try to find hidden PBNs that my competitors are using, finding new link opportunities, and spotting technical sites errors.

1615660943799.png

I'll start with these.

“submit” AROUND(4) guest post inurl: SEO

This shows websites that say submit and guest post within four words of each other and also have the word SEO in URL.

"keyword" inurl:blog (also add "&num=100" at the end of the url)

You get a list of 100 sites with your given keyword that have a blog section = guest post opportunities. BONUS: do it while using SEOQuake to download the 100 sites to a CSV and run a Batch Analysis on Ahrefs for further refinement.

site:domain.com -inurl:https

Finding pages in Google's index that aren't using https yet.

Allintitle:

I like to use it when getting an idea of how many people are competing for a keyword.

site:.edu inurl:blog "post a comment" -"comments closed" -"you must be logged in" keyword goes here

Quality Edu blogs where you can comment on

Cache:domain.com

See how the page looked like from the last visit Google Robot did. The more recent the date is, the better.

intext:domain.com -site:domain.com

Finding websites where the domain is being mentioned. This helps you find links that tools like Ahrefs, SEMRush can't pick up. You can change the domain.com and use the name of the author or with another anchor text they usually get links from.

----------------

These were some that came to the top of my head while writing this article, I'll keep updating this thread and I encourage other members to do so as search operators can be very handy on daily SEO tasks.

Huh, I didn't know the first one! Awesome share, bookmarked.

This is actually wrong:
“submit” AROUND(4) guest post inurl: SEO
the space between inurl: and SEO tells google that you are searching for a space in the URL, which is not allowed. Google then will submit their best guess of what they think you are searching, thus you get too many irrelevant results.

This is better:
“submit” AROUND(4) guest post inurl:SEO
and practically the same you can do with the * (asterisk) which is considered a wildcard placeholder for any character, word or phrase:

“submit * guest post" inurl:SEO

Thanks for the tips, but i set google 100 results in search preferences in chrome anyway.

Thanks for the tips, but i set google 100 results in search preferences in chrome anyway.

I am not sure we understand each other.
I am not talking about the number of results per page. I am talking a range of numbers present in the text.

Gold right here, thank you

How do you use these search operators for finding hidden PBNs?

You type the domain name for example intext:blackhatworld.com -site:domain.com or any other type of anchor that the site gets link from like intext:bhwforum -site:domain.com and it will show sites that are linking to that domain.

It's the basic. Anyone doing SEO or any type of research should know google operators.

Nice reminder and it should help beginners as well.

Removing keywords from a search

blackhatworld.com -geasy

Check for non-secure pages on a website

site:blackhatworld.com -inurl:https

Finding PDF’s

site:*.com | *.org | *.co.uk “blackhatworld” filetype: pdf
