Wondering what the 'must have' WP plugins are for SEO related features and performance.

Currently, I use Ithemes Security and Custom Fields on every project along with some others occasionally depending on features client wants. For SEO though, is Yoast as good as everyone claims, if you use every feature? Any other SEO type plugins I should look into?

I try to keep my plugins to minimum on WP sites for obvious reasons. Less to update. Less potential security and compatibility problems, faster loading pages, etc.

Plugin to change the url of your log in page for security is must. Yoast is a good plugin.

I didn't consider the type of website in my initial post. Great question MisterF!

Blog, drop-shipping, and affiliate type websites. I'm not a fan of the idea of setting up my own PBN's. I want to focus on my own website first, making the coding as SEO efficient as possible, and the content as good as it can be.

I mentioned using IThemes Security plugin which has this feature built in. I need to look more into getting the most out of Yoast.

MonsterInsight
MaxCDN
Sucuri or Wordfence or iThemes Security
BackupBuddy
Yoast SEO or All In One
W3 Total Cache.

Recently did a switch to this one on some of my websites: https://wordpress.org/plugins/optimality/
So far looks promising, anyone else using it?

Forget iThemes, use Shield - its all you need for security and anti-spam
All in one seo pack

The best plugin to have is to not have any plugin atall. In case you didn't know, more plugin you put into your wp site, heavier it becomes.. Only use what you ABSOLUTELY need. Also try avoiding plugins that hook onto every page of your site. That's even worse! If you are experienced enuff (even if you are not, outsource it), try putting those features into your custom theme (oh did I mention? Stop using child themes too.. lol)..

Just my two cents :)

Why do you say 'forget ithemes'? Do you have any experience with ithemes security plugin and what makes it not so good?

For me spider block LOL! much better than so called other plugins to coverup SPYing and block crawlers like ahrefs , semrush :)
