Multisite for multiple domains.

I think I might be misunderstanding the concept of Wordpress multisite.

My understanding is one great thing about WP MS it allows you to run multiple domains with one WP install thereby limiting the load placed on the server.

Is this true? How would I find information on how to set it up?

I have around 70 domains. I don't want any of them to share content.

Multiuser refers to having subdomains on the same domain.

Maybe I am not asking this properly. I want WP running on 70 domains but I only want 1 set of core WP files. I want to do this because every UNLIMITED shared hosting company that I have set up on has thrown me off. There is no way to use MS or MU whatever they are calling it this week to run 70 domains ??

sorry about bumping a 2 week old thread.
But there is a way to have WP running with 70 domains.
Enable multi site and look for the domain mapping plugin.
Then you can set up your 70 domains with "1 set of core WP files".
Google may be able to associate all those domains with each other. (All sites have the same IP) And by default there is some javascript on every mapped domain that could lead a visitor to the base install domain. (you can remove this though)

You can also use different ips and still have "1set of core WP files"

I think they won't be different class c though. And the single, same dns server may reveal your attempts to trick google. May be worth a try though

Thanks bro I'll look into it. My theory was that having 1 core set of files and 1 DB would limit the load on a shared server.

Yes, you can run one WP theme on as many domain as you want to.

i just do manual to isntall 500 my wp blogs, maybe you can use wpdesktop for more blogs, i just use AMR for blog posting
