Are you using YOutube as the traffic source or is it a funnel, like:
your traffic srouce -> youtube video -> landing page?

He wants to safe guard his main domain. Probably planing on spamming youtube.
OP you do need a cloaker, with that you can spam multiple social networks, not just youtube.

If he wants to protect his domain then cloaking is essential.

Not sure what you're trying to do, but Bitly alone won't do. In fact it won't achieve anything at all in this case because there's audomated checks that pass right through bitly, so you do need a cloaker
