Multiple sites in same industry - Techniques used

Hi Guys

So far I know that for you to be able to do this, which is basically a take over of page 1...

Sites with unique content
Sites on different C class IPs
Different WHOIS data? and contact details

I also have been told however, that you can get quite a few sites in the same industry, up to around 5 sites. Anyone have any idea on this?

I have a lot of URLs which I gathered up in my industry that I want to use but obviously want to keep the workload down as much as possible without affecting the quality achievable.

you can always have sites in same industry as far as you feel that you can manage 4-5 sites in same industry.

If you build one mega site then you will get links, so you will have 6-8 drop downs. Build a good Twitter,Pinterest and Instagram and you will pick up some more spots.

The sites are fairly easy to run, but someone in the industry has told me that if I run more than 5 sites in the same industry from the same server, the sites will all be penalised. Not correct?

Duffers I have some EMD names of established competitor name spin offs that I want to rank for their URL and steal a bit of traffic, so even though its the same industry I wont be chasing the main keyword in the given industry, so I guess therefore it dosen't matter?

Interesting....i thought that the more sites you have per "industry" that are linked together, produce better SEO for "all" linked sites.

So now you are saying within the same server...5 per server?
