In the last few days I have had multiple client sites de-indexed from yahoo/bing and there seems to be no rhyme or reason to it. Some sites were done completely white hat and others were black hat sites with completely different themes, owners and linking strategies done. Has anyone else had their site de-indexed from yahoo/bing recently? If so please post the details here so we can figure out what is going on.

Yes, I've had several sites de-indexed. In the gambling niche I've seen dozens of sites removed. Most of them were keyword-domains as far as I can tell.

@Bertje What sort of strategies were you using? I have clients that range from the loans niche to guided meditations and every niche in between and it seems that almost all of the niches were effected. Now when I look at the rankings for those same keywords it shows nothing but high authority domains like walmart, amazon etc.

Wasn't doing this myself, but I've seen a lot of domains removed that were bombing Bing with "domainname.com keyword" queries. If they did a cleanup of this, it would make sense that a lot of keyword-domains are removed and you'll find big authority names at the top now.

Wow very odd, if this is the case then it seems that a lot of other sites also got by this cleanup. I'm not sure what to do at this point, does anyone have an recommendations on how to recover rankings from something like this? I have quite a few clients that are very angry and lost a major portion of their income because of this.

I think there is no way to resolve this. You should remove any agressive SEO and SPAM technique and wait about 2 or 3 months. There is a small change that Bing will start indexing your sites again. But I think they are lost forever. You better set up new pages.
