    Hi all,

I have a question for more experienced twitter marketers out there.

I have a niche business idea I'm working on and my twitter account is mybusinessniche so it's the name of the business I created to promote around the niche. I have my own photo in the avatar.

More recently I have decided to really work hard and making something happen with online, so have decided to focus on a number of other things.

    1) Marketing business services / website design. (I already have a website in progress for this)
    2) Marketing evangelism
    3) Remote computer repair
    4) some as yet undecided niche (I am exploring what niche to make my first review site for)

My question is should I have a separate account for all of these?

I notice Guy Kawasaki has his name as his twitter account, and his website is his name too. This is the personal brand I guess.

Do you recommend I also have my own twitter account, in my name.

If I do have a separate account for these separate projects, should I have my profile on all of them.

I am thinking maybe have a personal account, and then separate ones for the projects, and I can maybe promote the project accounts from my personal account, and maybe create a personal homepage in my name - where I simply link to the project pages.

I am just trying to get my head around, if multiple accounts are best, and if personal or business style brands would be better.

    Any advice and thoughts welcome!

I think I am just going to buy the art of social media marketing, by Guy it seems like a good starting point. But thought i'd ask here too, this specific question. Thanks look forward to discussions.

Depends what you're trying to do.

If you're trying to make a SINGLE brand for yourself in this, go for it! Think Virgin and Richard Branson - airlines, mobile etc.
If you're aiming to make these and SELL, then I'd recommend just making separate accounts and websites.

what he said. Basically are you trying to brand yourself? Or are you trying to stand behind a product/service? If you brand yourself you risk ruining your reputation, trolls, etc etc. but you gain the most out of it if you succeed

If you stand behind a service you get more privacy and avoid the fame and whatnot and you can still make money

very interesting thanks guy, I hadn't even considered the selling angle, and yes if I want to sell at some point I guess it doesn't make sense to have a personal brand. I guess I could still have my avatar in the other twitter accounts? Just not link them all up with a personal twitter account ?

What I've read so far says that its best have your photo as your avatar on twitter, so even if the other projects aren't in my name and i'm going for the more business type of setup, I guess they should still have my profile photo on the twitter account?

I'm thinking from reading your answers that maybe I do create a personal twitter page, and use that as my marketing / how to be successful info / review etc - because this is something that fascinates me anyway, and i'd happily do indefinitely as I see it, and even if I do make and sell a business project, ill be making and selling more, so will still find a personal account useful.

whereas with the projects I concentrate on individual twitter accounts, fb profiles, websites etc.

Hmm interesting, and a big decision for someone starting out I think.
