Let's say I had a website that I was doing major SEO work to on a business hosting plan. I just have one dedicated IP.
I would like to make another website that will also have a lot of professional SEO work done to it. Can having two different sites on one dedicated IP affect SEO at all? Would you recommend buying a different hosting account for each site?
    Thanks.

Yeah, it may get affected in one way or another, worse is to get caught.

an ideal option is multiple hosting :)

    .

If you?re going to do it openly, same owner etc. so that Google knows about them, then I don?t think it will be a problem.

But if you don?t want Google to know that both belong to you then separate IP?s will be better

I don't think it matters, because there are many shared sites sitting on a single IP.
Doesn't mean you do all the spam backlinks with your website and the results are not going to affect the other websites hosted on the same ip.
    Just my thoughts...

It doesn't matter much if the two sites are completely different, unique and targeting different keywords

As per my knowledge you have to go with separate IP for all different website. It`ll be better SEO prospective..

This won't be a problem. You can have more than one website, even focussing on different niche under the single IP.
