Multiple IP Adresses from same Desktop/Laptop

That's the cheap solution, another solution would be to buy some $15 per month Windows VPS servers with remote desktop

Be careful with that because with default settings there is an increased likelihood that one could detect it's a Windows Server edition.

I would give +1 for VM because there's less chance of making a mistake and contaminating different profiles and it gives you flexibility to use more than just Firefox to spread out the footprint. Downside is you need more RAM

Shared proxies are your best bet in terms of cost/effectiveness. You can get 10 of them for well under a tenner. Providing you won't need them for the obvious stuff like Google, Craigslist etc. where other users might interfere with your usage. Think captchas, blocks, throttling etc :)

easiest way would be to use the portable version of chrome/FF and attach a proxy to each one. No need to create virtual machines or have to switch between multiple user accounts. One portable browser per proxy.
