Multiple exact match domains from same niche - what to do?

Hi,

as the title says, I have multiple exact match domains from the same niche, lets say its something like this (example):
bestcar.com
bestcars.com
bestauto.com
best-auto.com

All of those terms (plural, "auto" synonym) have quite good search volumes.

How to proceed?
Build 4 money sites and split my PBN links to all of them?
Choose 1 domain as a money site and create links from the remaining 3 sites?
Start with one site, rank it to the top, then start with the second one, repeat etc.?
or something else?

Dont forget that I have the same budget/resources for this, no matter what option I will choose.

If you have the budget and you're positive it will rank and be profitable, then why not build them all out simultaneously. This is only if you're certain you can rank them and they are profitable though. Also, if you plan on using any Google products on these sites be careful. It's against Googles guidelines for one person to have multiple websites targeting the same keywords. Something about creating an unfair environment for competitors, which I find ironic.

Personally, I would build one of them and see how difficult it is, how much money it cost me to rank, profitability, etc. If it's worth it, then I would build out the other three as money sites and try and own the first page for the keywords.

Ultimately, it comes down to how intimate you are with the niche and how confident you are in ranking it and making money.

If you are new to SEO, I surely would not start with 4 sites at once. Focus on one domain at the time and work on that. You can better focus on one domain and once that pulls off the money, you can start working on other three. Plus, be very careful with EMDs so you won't overoptimize them. Also check the history of the domains you will be working on. It might be spammed from the SEO venture of the previous owner.

Nargil - thanks for the answer. Well I am quite experienced in SEO (7 years of experience, I own close to 200 domains), but this situation is new to me . And those EMDs have never been registered before, so there should be no risk of spamming from the previous owner. Okay, I will do this as you wrote it - start with one domain first, till it brings in money.

I'd go with one site if the competition is high. Unless, as mentioned, you have the budget to build link to 4 sites.

If not, you'll be splitting all of your link equity between 4 sites, which just isn't as useful as sending it all to one. 4 domains might make sense for low to medium competition keywords that don't need a lot of links... just good content and tech SEO.

start all of them and see which is ranking best ...... then you can set a link from the others to you top page and boost the ranking there.
