Multiple Domains selling same product okay?

I was wondering if having multiple domains with different keywords selling the same product with different description will have negative affects? Will Google ban my sites because they are duplicated products? I notice many of my competitors are doing it and i have read on a few websites that google and most search engines will remove your websites if they are duplicate products by one owner.

lol duplicate product... I made few sites for acai berry and all of them ranked for it in Google search result for good time... I still see sites from other people who are doing same with other niche...

If this will be case then SEO people have to stop promoting affiliate products because there will be thousands of people promoting same product... Even PPC guys will have tough time with Google quality score going down because of duplicate product...
