Multiple domains for a single niche product

I've been lurking for awhile and probing different ideas. Finally came up with a very specific niche to sell only one popular item that I believe would easily sell at a 1:4 price because of its impulse buy value in my eyes and from what I've heard from others that I've shown the product (for what that's worth). Just to start out building I've purchased two domains that contain very specific keywords for the product. I was actually surprised that the main keywords + pseudo name for the product were not taken. G's Keyword Planner shows ~20k/mo searches on these keywords. My question: When developing specific niche sites like this how do you guys handle multiple domains trying to sell the same product? Is it better to build both/all domains as "competitors" to each other with links in between, or build them where each has slightly different content and link to a main host "selling" domain, (or other method?) ? Will be working on backlinking depending on what the best course of action is here and plan to post results as it plays out. Thanks!

If I were you, since you have two domains being used to promote the same product(s), use one site as a product listing directory and then use your second site strictly as an article/content based site and if you have the budget, set both sites up on unique IP's and then link to your product site from the content site after a month or two.

Thanks for your reply. As far as setting one as a article/content based site, how do you go about making seo friendly 'different' content for the same product when there isn't a lot of content to talk about? As an example, lets say the product I'm promoting is a light-up pen. Let's assume this is one of the first light-up pens available. Would creating an in-depth review/about of the product then spinning it be sufficient? Other than custom spinning a product review a few times and maybe a video I'm not sure how I would come up with unique content on such a simple (yet innovative) product. On top of that, which domain would be more suitable for the content site, the stronger-keyword-domain, or the lessor?
