    I am pretty new to blogging and just completed setting up my first blog.

    I have a server and wanted to install multiple blogs on it. So do i need to install WP each time for a new blog and create the MySQL id as well?

    you could use wpmu, or there are a few hacks around that allow you to use one set of files for multiple sites..

    i'm on the same shoe, installing wp on each subdomain. some plugins and themes just don't work under wpmu apart from finding it complicated to install

    Well I checked wpmu and found that its not integrated into the core itself and has tutorials on how to setup blogs in sub domains or directories.

    However i would need that to be a completely different domain.. any work arounds ?

    also if i have autoblogs in the same server is that gone be a problem ?

    of course it is integrated. look here:
    http://codex.wordpress.org/Create_A_Network

    the main point is that you edit your wp-config.php and add:
    define('WP_ALLOW_MULTISITE', true);
    you can run wpmu on subdomains, directories and also on different domains. this is a little bit tricky but it works great, what you need is the "WordPress MU Domain Mapping" Plugin.
