Multiple Backlink from the same domain

Hi

I contact you because i want to start again a project i put in pause some years ago but i have a little problem.

Back in 2015 this project work really well and i manage to put a little banner who redirect to my website on one of my competitor website .

The banner is still active on this website but as you know i stopped the project and so the banner redirect to a blank page . When i check on ahref the number of backlink i have they say 357 and they all come from the same domain so the domain where is my banner .

This banner is on the header of this website so for each news the creator write my banner appear and i have a backlink.

Do you think that can hurt in term of SEO? i'm pretty new with this and do you think it's better to use a new domain or i can use this domain again and take an advantage of this

IMO this sounds pretty spammy and could be grounds for a penalty similar to sitewide footer links

Can you tell what type of links they are?

I wouldn't risk it either. Anyway the penguin must've evaluated it already - did you see any organic traffic changes around Feb 7?

It's nothing too terrible in the terms of SEO really. It's quite natural and common that banner will create a sitewide link and Google accepts it. Definitely no reason for a penalty.
