Multiple articles, same content?

Hi!

I'm writing articles for a website I'd like to launch within two months. Some of these articles are Top 10 type of articles and they are pretty long. I write on average 7000 words per article, with the shortest being 5000 words and the longest 10 000 words.

I'm thinking of posting these articles and breaking them down into 10 articles, one for each item reviewed on the Top 10 list. Would it be a problem for adsense monetization?

Let's say I wrote an article about the Top 10 action movies of 2017. Let's say it is 10 000 words long. Can I post it and then copy and paste the review of each movie to make 10 more articles that would be 1000 words each?

I would only want to rank the Top 10 article, not the smaller ones I made from it. My only fear is when I apply for Adsense.

If you want to rank keep it longer as it is. Google ranked long-form content always higher

Longer articles do help with ranking. However, I think it's a good idea. Maybe you could rewrite or spin the shorter posts so they aren't identical.

Rewrite it and post to avoid duplicate issues. Longer articles with quality and engaging content performs well and will be helpful.

If you are going to have long form content and 10 short form versions of the same article, but don't want to rank the smaller articles. A wise choice would be to choose a canonical URL. Read more about that here. This was you tell google that the longer version is canon and needs to be crawled. While the shorter ones are duplicate content and needs to be crawled less often.

I think it depends on what you expect the user to do when they search for your keyword i.e the intent behind a keyword.
Does it need a long worded content post to answer?
If that is the case then go for long worded content of around 1000 or more words.
If you feel the intent can be answered in less text then you could write less words, but add more image content.
Then optimise the images for SEO.

Better to post longer content. There is more chances of it getting ranked on Google.

Make your articles longer, and spin or tweak the shorter ones so algorithm won't "detect" it as duplicates
