Multiple article directories ?

So I've heard that posting the exact same article on a lot of sites isn't good. So I only posted each article on around 3/4 sites.... (did have 2 articles that were just for ezinearticles !).

Now I noticed I have a backlink from flixya(never heard of it before tbh) from a member with 3k posts...

The good thing is I had anchored text inside the article and not just in my bio(learned my lesson) so I got s free Backlink :)

Basically, surely the big G can't see this as bad ? Someone copied my article word for word, I can't stop them from doing it, so what happens if someone posts it on 100s of sites etc ?

Of course, Google count it as bad practice... If your duplicate articles are spamming the search results, Google will certainly hate it.

If someone else is copying your article, he will not get an iota of benefit from it apart from building his own profile on the article directory... From SEO standpoint duplicate article are not going to help him.

You should approach the person who copied your article and ask him to remove your article, this may have a negative effect on your profile as an Author.

Sometimes I wonder about this though, let's say my competitor published an article on 1 or 2 sites, if it has a really bad effect on their site I could just post that article on 100s of sites to benefit me?

Well, I believe in that case, Google will benefit of doubt to the article that was indexed first.
 
No offense Kaithe but I see you have some weird beliefs about SEO.

Posting the same article to over 1000 websites won't hurt your website, especially not when you only want a backlink.

On ezinearticles you can even see how many times your article was published by other people, of course copy/pasted without changing a word.

And how do you explain press releases? When your press release is posted to hundreds of websites without any changes made to content.

Those are all good backlinks that will help you rank in serps.

Being scared of what might happen is not really helpful, try it out yourself and don't listen to people who haven't tried it themselves.

I assume making 20k comment backlinks is bad for Kaithe, but to many people this is what works for them.

I really advise you to stop worrying and just try it out.

My concepts are not wired, I speak out what I discover. I guess, you either haven?t heard about Panda or your probably ignoring it.

By the way, how will you rate the quality of backlinks you are getting from these article directories. They are just bunch of low quality backlinks that contribute very less in improving your PR or SERP rankings. And, as far as traffic is concerned, since Panda filter duplicate content, your duplicate article might not appear in the search result. Hence no or very tiny traffic you website will receive..
