I'm thinking to start a multilingual blog. English should be the main language but I want also to write in my native language and get this traffic too.

But the plan is first be a 100% english website and with time add the native language 1:1.

There are 3 different ways I can go:
1. Use website.com and the native language will be website.com/native
2. Use a subdomain website.com and native.website.com
3. Use 2 different domains website.com and website.native

I think way 1 is the best since you can get backlinks in english (what is way easier than in my native language) and the increased DA will also improve the native language blogposts.

I would use the plugin WPML to do this. But as like I said start english only than add slowly the native article with WPML.

It has been discussed here this thing, maybe you will find the topic with search. I've seen that big companies use option 1. I prefer option 3.

I suggest 1 option because it is a native site and language. so easy to get more traffic.

I prefer to use option 3 on my own.

Link juice is flowing through one domain to another as language switcher is the first link on my site, but option 1 also sounds ok.

My vote goes for option 1. Works perfectly from an SEO perspective if you have a strong, authoritative domain.
