Ouch! Price suffered another blow. I wonder will this cause the government to intervene/regulate bitcoins in future.

The market has responded very well so far to all that. Plus the Chinese are buying like crazy at the current prices.

Mt gox is hit now to? Was there not another exchange hit recently as well?

Somebody really needs to figure out how to offer a faster exchange, and obviously something more secure. Certainly alot of money in it for whoever figures out to streamline the exchange process, and maybe take a few pointers from how the big banks run shop(security wise).

It 'll get mature. The main problem is the gov hostility which is a barrier of entry to bigger players so far and makes the process slower.

Mtgox has repeatedly caused damage to bitcoin's progress and reputation.
This is definitely a major setback to the bitcoin market.

Yeah I would't be surprised if it tanked well under $300 soon. Bitcoin to me is like a fun little distraction, almost comparable to a soap opera. I don't watch much television but the drama surrounding Bitcoin is certainly enjoyable to observe from the sidelines.

You need to make that decision for yourself. BTC was once over $1,000 (not that long ago) and when it dropped into the $800 range people started asking those same questions. If you had decided to buy then, look where you'd be right now. On the other hand, if you purchased BTC at $5 then you'd still be in great shape right now.

This is a gamble, I don't enjoy gambling so I stay away from it. Do you enjoy gambling?

Does anyone really believe that anything that would challenge the banker controlled fiat currencies of the world would go unchallenged?

Does anyone really believe that the governments of the world would allow something that they cannot regulate and of which their masters, the banks, cannot control would go unchallenged?

Now think of who the current masters of using faceless enemies and plausibly deniable excuses is. Bear in mind that that government does hire many security specialists to write the code and find the holes to exploit to further their agenda. Think Stutnex, Flame, and Duku.
