Hi,

For the past two or three months, my sites’ Moz DA hasn’t increased, even though I keep adding lots of backlinks from sites with decent DA — as if Moz isn’t indexing those backlinks anymore.

Worse, if I launch a new domain, its DA stays stuck at 1 despite the backlinks.

I don’t see this issue with Ahrefs DR.

Any idea ?

Thanks.

Moz updates DA slowly and not all backlinks get picked up. It can take months before changes show. Ahrefs crawls faster so DR moves sooner.

Focus on building quality links and do not worry too much about Moz since Google does not use DA.

Moz’s crawler may be slower or missing links; DA updates infrequently. Ahrefs crawls more aggressively, so DR reflects changes faster. check ahref brother

Don't forget the foundational strength of your own platform. That's always a key factor in how these services assess your site long-term.

Moz DA updates more slowly and selectively than Ahrefs—not all backlinks get counted right away, especially if they're from lower-traffic or less-crawled sites. It’s normal for DA to lag. Keep building quality links, and focus more on real traffic and rankings than DA alone.

Moz DA is slow to update, sometimes months behind. If your links are indexed in Ahrefs/Google, don’t stress too much about DA — it’ll catch up eventually.

I’ve run into the same with Moz, DA just stays flat even after building links from decent sites. From what I’ve seen, Moz updates slower than Ahrefs, so sometimes the changes don’t show for months even though the backlinks are real.

It's common for Moz's Domain Authority (DA) to update slowly, sometimes taking months to reflect changes, especially when adding backlinks from lower-traffic or less-crawled sites. Unlike Ahrefs, which updates its Domain Rating (DR) more frequently, Moz's updates are less aggressive. However, if your links are indexed in Ahrefs or Google, don't stress too much about DA, it'll catch up eventually. Focus on building quality links and driving real traffic DA will follow.
