So, Finally Panda 3.4 affected my websites..Traffic is reduced to 1/3 and so is the income.I am going to again start from the basics and have decided to go for complete manual link building (slow and steady) however I will use tools like scrape box, senukex etc to create 2nd tier links.

Will be focusing on three websites
website 1 (2 years old) technology blog
website 2 (1 year old) gadgets blog
website 3 (8 months old) android related blog

So ,what I will be doing this week
    • Improving the structure (template, broken links etc) of website.
    • Will create links (links will be in posts) on some forums related to my niche (they will stick for sure).
    • A little bit blog commenting
    • Article submission (2-3 articles) for each website on top article directories like ezinearticles, sooperarticles etc.
    • social bookmarking for new posts using socialadr free service.

I am also looking for advice from fellow Bhw members. All my websites are on same hosting with same ip.Does it affect seo in any way.If you suggest I can move my websites to different hosting servers.

Also can you suggest me anything in terms of link building that can help me recover my ranking!!

Build your own private blog network that has orginal quality content and is actually a real site. Host them all on different shared hosting accounts with lots of different companies. The build the auto links "slowly" too those blogs.

People are running around like headless chickens saying that blog networks are dead, when really it's "shit sites with crap content" that are dead.

If you build a network like this you won't need to worry about any panda updates.

Because people seem to believe what everyone else says,

Plus nobody actually thinks what google want's:

They want quality and relevant information appearing in their searches when somebody types in a query, If your site is high quality and your backlinks are high quality (the sites your backlinks are on serve a purpose) you will never have a problem as you are giving Google what they want.

Even if Google some how managed to find out you are minipulating their rankings do people really think they are going to de-indexed sites that are helpful to their searchers? Of course not. Check out some of the big players in any niche "the million dollar guys". Loads of their links are from blog networks that even i can tell they own...

By the way to the OP

I am not saying "manual link building" isn't a good approach as it is. I am just saying in the long run a good blog network will save you so much time.

    And Time is Money :)

It won't have any affect on your SEO since you are not linking these websites together and trying to boost each other's ranking. You should have no problems there.

with regards to creating a personal blog network, is it better to go niche specific or general?

I find it hard to keep a high page rank on general sites that cover more than 1 niche,

totally depends, If there is a lot of money in the niche create 20 or so sites in the same niche.

Always treat each site like a real site i.e. monetize it etc...

I have a blog network in the adult niche and one of the sites in the network makes $800 a month. Which covers the whole cost of running the network plus around $500 a month profit. Not to mention the other sites and the actual site. This is above average results though.

You can however have sites like:

    1. A site about new business realises (means linking out is natural)
    2. A directory (again linking out is natural)
    3. A video site (link out looks pretty natural)
    4. A mobile site (directory of cool sites you like and about you) again link out is natural
5-10 Some general blogs (news style)

Allready you have a blog network that looks natural, provides quality and provides a variety of different links

Thanks for your suggestion..I am not too sure about private blog network...I believe at this time it would be difficult for me to manage too many blogs..

95% of blog networks are done wrong and eventually become devalued and possibly deindexed.

This is why a lot of people fall from page 1 to page 100+ overnight.

    CR,

I know that you use to sell blog posts on a large private network so I value your opinion.

How many sites would be needed for a personal blog network? Can you recomend any software to manage them? Can the blogs be in different niches, not general but different specific niches.

    Thanks

That was my 100th post. It snuck up on me. I was planning to do something special. I guess I will for my 111th post instead. For now I will donate!
