Moving from wordpress to HTML today tips for

I am going to take the risk and move a small money site from wordpress to a static site and it is already setup for the most part.


I am looking for any tips that would help a SEO static site 5-10 pages rank well. I am use to wordpress seo but it is time to make the change.

Can you tell me , why you would like to move to HTML ?
What is the problem you are having with wordpress CMS ?

For a 10 page website its probably an overkill. OP take a look at static website CMSs - makes page management a breeze, while keeping the small footprint and speed of a simple html page.

Static sites are definitely fast and lightweight, but WordPress has its advantages too. It’s easier to make a site responsive across devices, manage SEO with built-in plugins, and handle security with regular updates. Plus, for non-technical users, WordPress makes editing and scaling the site much simpler in the long run.

Wise choice.

I guess you have access to AI - let ChatGPT & Co handle the transition for you. Be detailed in your prompt on the desired outcome, ask for suggestions like the use of schema, etc..

I've done it with a coupling of landing pages, embedded into Mautic, and the html and css code is just great.

My problem is I have 1 site hosted there and 200$ is too much for a renew, my backlinks are going homepage so it will be to the .com anyway for homepage. I dont really care for the upselling as well and they recently raised their rates again. I hosted the same domain for free elsewhere, godaddy just felt safe.

Happened this morning a little concerned about the html to .com but i see GSC hitting the .com on index.html so i think no backlink issues.

I can code a little but yes ChatGPT made the process 5x faster and probably better layout then i can do myself i hate to admit.

#1) I think you are confusing between wordpress.com and wordpress.org

Wordpress.ORG is a CMS and wordpress.COM is basically a expensive / limited webhosting for wordpress .

I don't recommend anyone to use wordpress.com hosting for the website instead
You can go with any shared hosting package (with self-hosted wordpress)
It will cost you less than 5$ per month

#2) So my recommendation is to stick with the wordpress , but change your webhosting .
In this way you can still take advantage of the wordpress features without paying anything other than hosting and domain pricing .

I will have to look into this. All i am aware of is godaddy, hostinger, namecheap, bluehost and these big vendors i guess offering wordpress hosting fot 200-400 bucks a year.

I did try digital ocean hosting but i need to experiement more before i trust it. This is off topic but i will not get the chance to experiment, some some organization or service is still buying domain auctions on-scale, it is ridiculous at this point, I use to scoop up a few easily for 1$ plus renewal

I know its out of control because a few dud domains i dropped sold for 50$ to 200$, i should have auctioned them.

Go with the Name Cheap Shared Hosting Stellar package if you want 1-3 websites
Pay yearly and you will get the hosting in around $25 per year

I am curious to see how this money site ranks as a static site. I marked it up pretty good and it has the backlinks. I was able to embed the map and add in addon plugins as well as you would for wordpress, it was fairly simple. I may never go back to a CMS if this works except for google sites which is free as well.....

my confusion which i am researching today comes in static files ending in .html while the domain itself is .com. I know the homepage links are safe which are the most important. I am confused about website.com/about.html and how the backlinks would flow there. I mainly tested and looked at the homepage.

I am already very happy with this decision and again wished I started with static site but lacked the knowledge back then.
