Movie Site - Needs Unique Content?

Basically I got a movie site where I primarily wanna focus on getting my traffic from Google.
It's really basic but what I wondered was whether I should pay for unique content or just copy/paste the descriptions off IMDB like everyone else.

Also how much text should I aim for?

That?s movie site so report and other information about movie may be same but I suggest you, you can rewrite content from IMDB that?s fine because if you use duplicate content that condition you may be facing problem with ranking and indexing.
