I have a wordpress template that loads the home page

    www.thisismywebsite.com

I want to 301 redirect that to:

    www.thisismywebsite.com/keywordsgohere

and have all the files and folders that were sub directories under the root all fall in line under the new "root" --www.thisismywebsite.com/keywordsgohere

problem is that if I just make another folder and move files, nothing is in the right place according to all the images/articles anymore.

Is there a way to do this without manually editing the ENTIRE website and changing ALL the html links by hand?

    thanks

Probably the way to go here is to make a new wp install in the subfolder that you want, then backup the original site database and load that to the new installs database.

Or would it work for you to just create a new category and add all the existing posts to that category?

No there is a export function in wp export your data, then install wp in its subfolder and then inport your data back in

But this will not take care of your 301 redirect ,you would need to redirect ever url in htaccess if you have tags and so on thats a hell of a job
