I'm eggplantparm,
I'm someone that's been stuck at an office they hate for 5+ years. I like my coworkers and the industry i'm in but am sick and tired of being in a place where there is zero upward mobility. Working overtime for people that consistently complain about how bad business is while they are all renovating their mansions and buying new cars multiple times each year.
So, i've decided to do something about it.
I decided on IM because I already have sales experience and a basic understanding of HTML and web design from late 90's, so I thought this would be a good foundation. I Purchased an HTML 5/CSS book to refresh myself and reading up on modern web design. I have been waking up at 5am every day for the past 3 months so I can spend 2 hours reading/researching about SEO(both white and blackhat) and affiliate marketing.
To start I am going to be working on some amazon sites, then perhaps some adsense and then finally some affiliate marketing. I keep reading about people losing their income stream because they put all of their eggs in one basket, i don't want that to happen so i will try to diversify from the beginning.
My goal is to leave my current job and find a flexible part time job I would enjoy more, once I am making enough supplemental income to support such a move. Then I will reduce my hours accordingly if I am successful in my new ventures.
We shall see how this goes.
